Hi everyone,
I’ll start by saying I’m just not up to posting a picture to get amusing captions this week. The past 24+ hours have been horrific. I think even more horrible than watching a young man killed for disagreeing with people, is watching hordes of those people happily celebrating his death on line.
Our family knew a family that lost an adult son on 9/11. He had small children and over the years I would check in on them on social media. It always struck me when I saw them celebrating milestones in their lives, how awful and sad it was that their father missed those occasions. I felt the same anguish yesterday looking at Charlie Kirk’s young children and knowing they would have the same experience of never really knowing their father.
9/11 was horrific in part due to the absolute hatred and malice that would cause people to ACT on those with complete disregard for innocent loss of life. It breaks my heart to see so many of our fellow citizens exhibiting the same levels of hatred and malice for someone who committed the “crime” of disagreeing with them. It’s inhuman. It sadly reminds me of the 1930s German populace marching towards the Holocaust in terms of group think justifying death with no seeming self awareness of how wrong their actions are.
I will pray for our country and Charlie’s family and all those lost souls.
Here’s a photo. Please feel free to comment.
