Democrats using backdoor tactic to target the Second Amendment

Because of the Second Amendment, the Democrats can’t outright ban guns, even though they desperately want to do just that. They instead are trying to use another method to keep guns out of the hands of law abiding American citizens: going after the gun manufacturers.

According to a ZeroHedge, this week Democrats introduced legislation in both the House and Senate that would make gunmakers liable for firearms-related crimes.

This bill, The Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act, would repeal The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act of 2005 that protects gun manufacturers from lawsuits. Lawmakers from two of America’s most anti-gun states, California and Connecticut are leading the charge. Adam Schiff is one of the elected officials championing this legislation.

It won’t work. One, it won’t go anywhere in the Senate. Two, it would be shot down by the Supreme Court because it would set a terrible precedent for all manufacturers all over the country. Imagine this: if victims can sue gun manufacturers because someone misused their firearms and killed others, then auto manufacturers can be sued after drivers operate their vehicles recklessly and kill others. Alcohol and spirits manufacturers can be sued by victims of drunk drivers for misuse of their products. Junk food manufacturers can be sued because the misuse of their products make people fat and cause deadly health issues such as diabetes, heart attacks, and cancers.

Of course these Democrats know all this. This announcement is nothing more than an attempt to virtue signal and placate their base.
