Panetta served (disastrously) as Secretary of Defense [a position for which he was clearly unqualified] for a former rookie senator with excellent trouser creases who was previously a failed community organizer.
That had to have left a mark.
And that even though I happen to agree with his assessment of the qualifications in question.
