Here’s what President Obama said yesterday,
“First of all, no one is talking about a government takeover health care plan,” Obama said after he took the podium for the town hall meeting near the produce section.
He insisted he has “tried to say this over and over again – if you are happy with your health care, if you are happy with your doctor, we are not going to force you to change.
Here’s Barney Frank last weekend captured in a YouTube video speaking with a videographer from the liberal lobbying group Single Payer Action:
“I think if we get a good public option it could lead to single payer, and that’s the best way to reach single payer.”
Here’ the Wikipedia definition of single payer:
Single-payer health care is a term used in the United States to describe the payment of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers from a single fund. It differs from, and replaces, typical private health insurance where, through pricing and other measures taken by the insurer, the level of risks carried by multiple insurance pools as well as the coverage can vary and the pricing has to be varied according to the contribution of risk added to the pool. It is often mentioned as one way to deliver near-universal or universal health care. The administrator of the fund could be the government but it could also be a publicly owned agency regulated by law.
At least Barney Frank is honest about his goals, Obama not so much…
