Airforce Major Jill Metzger, stationed at Manas Air Base, was shopping in a Kyrgyzstan mall with friends when she disappeared.
From CNN:
(CNN) — A U.S. Air Force officer is missing after a trip to a shopping mall in Kyrgyzstan, a U.S. military statement said Wednesday.
Maj. Jill Metzger, with the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing, was last seen shopping at the Zum Shopping Center with others from the Manas Air Base when she disappeared on Tuesday, the statement said.
“Major Metzger was last seen wearing a green sweater and blue jeans,” the statement said.
“She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is in excellent athletic condition.”
Military Web sites describe Metzger as a top-flight marathoner.
Both the Kyrgyz police and the US military are searching for her:
BISHKEK, September 6, 2006 (RFE/RL) — Kyrgyzstan’s Interior Ministry and National Security Service say they have launched a joint operation to locate the U.S. air servicewoman who disappeared on September 5 in Bishkek.
The woman, who has been identified as Major Jill Metzger, is working at the U.S. Manas military air base, near Bishkek.
Manas air base public affairs officer Ann Carpenter told RFE/RL’s Kyrgyz Service that Metzger disappeared while shopping at Bishkek’s main department store (TsUM) with other U.S. base members.
“The [U.S.] 376th Air Expeditionary Wing base officials are working with the U.S. Embassy and local officials to locate the servicemember as soon as possible,” Carpenter added.
The U.S. Embassy in Bishkek has issued pictures of a blonde woman as part of the search operation.
Let’s hope she’s found quickly.
Update: Maj. Metzger was supposed to return home on Thursday and went to the mall to buy souvenirs for her family.

I just sent Kevin an email myself asking him to post here that Julie and I are two seperate. Not sure if he will, but hey, I would like to see you be made a fool of!!! an induced abortion up to 7-9 weeks (which is what the pills are designed for) is pretty much exactly like a really bad menstrual period. There is no identifiable fetus to “dispose of”.
I wonder whether Jill went off her birth control pills during the deployment because she thought she wouldn’t need them. Or, do they interfere with marathon training? I don’t know about that. “Accidents” happen, though, even ON the pill and even with smart women who know all about birth control.
OK, since we’re planting our flags in our own pet theories, I’m going with the “went to get abortion pills at a clinic/pharmacy and then something bad actually happened” theory.
It’s all so clear now! O.K., here’s what really happened:
http://www.mosnews.com/news/2006/10/02/hypnotise.shtml
She was hypnotized by Indian Fakirs and made to rob a bank. They then made her cut and dye her hair (because they were going to use her again on another bank), but she somehow got lost/confused (couldn’t follow instructions) and ended up wandering around until dark then knocking on the farmhouse door. Later, when asked what was going on, she said she wanted the bank teller to read the “this is a stick up” note in her pocket (not a bomb/note in her pocket).
Glad we can finally lay this all to rest.
If Kuba never mentioned his unverified report that he reportedly only heard second hand himself, would we ever had started down this path regarding her having an abortion?? I know one of the web news sites mentioned abortion, but its source seemed to be this blog.
I still think she was just going to sneak off for a few hours to do God only knows what, and couldn’t get back…something bad (kidnapping) or something inconvenient made her AWOL…
Abortion in a third world country just seems too whacky.
I do check back from time to time…you guys are having great dialogue.
Own computer…own time.
intrigued:
I think the abortion theory came a bit before Kuba’s “news”. I think the thing that struck everyone once it became clear that she left on her own was that WHATEVER she was doing when she left the mall had to be of critical importance to her. She must have known he was risking an awful lot to leave her group, go AWOL, get in a cab and venture into a city where she doesn’t speak the language. So the immediate theories were “affair” and “abortion”, because why else would a 33 yr old woman risk her career and possibly her life?
But perhaps it WASN’T all that unusual to venture into Bishkek. The Stars and Stripes article recently mentioned that airmen at Manas go into the mountains to ride horses. What do the people who have been at Manas have to say about that? Was it commonplace to go off base? Did people leave those MWR trips all the time to go to downtown cafes or other places in Bishkek? Or is it completely beyond imagination that someone would do that on a whim?

After much thought and agonizing over what could possess an active duty Major in the USAF to come up with such an infantile story about abduction, bomb, trance, etc., I concluded that this was the most likely explanation. Mind you, I am not a Fakir nor a Prophet, but have some ‘powers’ of deduction.
At any rate, the explanation as outlined below, is what I posted on the 11th of September – Pre-Kuba nonsense.
————————–
My general theory goes like this:
A.. This is her second deployment to Ganci. (can’t understand that one).. She is involved with someone there and one thing leads to another. She gets the big “P”.
B. The only MTF there consists of a tent in the middle of the post.. anything serious would be medevac to some other MTF (probably Landstuhl) That can be done with little to no problem. However, the big “P” would be a problem, because to go there for that would have ‘official’ ramifications ie: medical chart, diagnosis, hospitalization, etc..). If she were stationed in Germany, she could take a week leave and go to the local German place and back to work with no one ever knowing anything.
C. She really can’t come home with the big ‘P’, because the agenda is packed, and it would be difficult to ‘explain’ her absence to the fam.
D. She can do it for next to nothing in Bishkek… ONLY PROBLEM… Time.. They aren’t authorized “leave”… they get R/R outings.. but that’s it! SO… desperate times call for desparate measures..
Everthing else is too much on the spooky side, and her just be a Personnel Type, she would have lacked the training for any covert kinda stuff.
BUT … that’s just me.. and I’m just here.. Nevertheless, I have lived there, I know the people, I think that they have a real tough life there, but I never felt ‘threatened’… so.. given my experience with the locals, I came up with the big “P”.

While most of the medical facilities in that part of the world are completely sub-standard compared to US facilities, there are some which are more progressive than others. Even the American Embassy posted some on their site as places recommended to visit.
Nevertheless, Jill Metzger, if we follow this thread, would have wanted a place where it would be accomplished with as little fan-fare as possible. Hence, the village butcher outside of Bishkek. If I had to explain this logic, it would have more to do with ‘someone’ getting a ‘connection’ for her with address to have the deed done. Any reputable place would probably not have been the facility of choice for Maj Metzger. Mostly due to the possiblity of arousing any undesired publicity.
Remember, if in fact this is what she was looking for, she only needed assistance with the deed. Not necessarily searching for the apex of health care facilities and top credentials of the practitioners.
We’ll probably never know for sure!! But what we DO KNOW is that the official channels have all but come out and declared that it WASN’T an abduction. At least not till now with these idiot Fakirs going around robbing banks by hypnosis.
The things to be looking for in the future:
1. Do Josh & Jill live happily ever after?
2. Do they go on ‘the honeymoon’?
3. Does Jill ‘retire’ to spend time with family
4. Does she get invited on CNN, ESPN, NBC, CBS, ABC, Jay Leno, Comedy Central, etc.
5. Does she write a book for Delta, SF, Seals, etc.. on the art of Escape and Survival?
or………
Does she get a parade, a promotion, honeymoon, and a deal on a book and movie?
I’m taking on all bets…
I’m betting there will be no parade, promotion, honeymoon, book, or movie.
I know one of the web news sites mentioned abortion, but its source seemed to be this blog.

The only undisputable truth is she was missing for four days and when found there was some deception in that apparently the missing person’s physical appearance was altered and inability of the missing person to provide an explanation officials are willing to verify or confirm 24-days after she was found.
The abduction and escape explanation initially reported is lacking any official verification or confirmation of accuracy 24-days after she was found. The lack of information is peculiar when virtually every other newsworthy military incident gets much discussion by news commentators.
My gut instincts lead me to believe the something bad happening did not involve kidnapping or coerced detention. I also do not believe she over powered anyone to escape because nothing demonstrates she was being held a prisoner or being involuntarily detained for criminal or political purposes.

an induced abortion up to 7-9 weeks (which is what the pills are designed for) is pretty much exactly like a really bad menstrual period. There is no identifiable fetus to “dispose of”.
I completed 400hrs (two blocks of 200hours) of advanced emergency training in a civilian hospital in a dense urban population area during period of February 18-19 1975 and November 5-16, 1976 at AF expense. During those 200 hours I ate and slept in the hospital as expectation was I would observe and participate in exams, surgical procedures, interpretation of x-rays, medical charting, intubation, etc at the direction of the lead physician I was assigned to whether it was in the ER or surgery, or delivery.
I got to do many things such as help plastic surgeons sew on severed digits, observed a few open heart surgeries and an actual brain surgery as part of the surgery team. One of the procedures done in the ER at the time was a procedure called normal saline induced miscarriage. Most of the girls getting procedure were high school and college. Most were being done at about the 7 and 8 week point. I would say from personal observation what came out was more substantive than a bad menstrual cycle and I would say the fetus was identifiable as such in most instances.
I have no idea what effects of birth control pills would be on endurance performance and a google search shows nothing definitive has been determined one way or the other. I do however agree “Accidents” happen, to those depending on the pill or using other method of birth control. Most often forget to take a pill on a day or two during the cycle and don’t read the small print and directions to get back into proper protection levels.
Being totally clueless of how long the pregnancy had existed, I would tend to believe she was in denial for the first two missed menstrual cycles and by the time she determined to take action the pregnancy had proceeded to the point that disposal of fetus was a concern. However, the whole pregnancy and abortion possibility is only guessing of the specifics.
Not personally knowing the individual or lacking psychic insight into how long she might have been pregnant, I can only make best guess from what my own eye balls have seen and my ears heard and my nose smelled in situations somewhat similar to what I’m guessing happened. I’m willing to wager she had a disposal problem.

Jill will not write any book for Delta, SF, SEALs, etc on art of Escape and Survival although she might get a book deal if there is money to be made off the story by a writer/publisher or writer/movie producer. The other possibility is she becomes a poster child for some social-political movement or cause.
The only other interest to me concerns if she is punitively discharged and her and hubby divorce will the Divorce Court insure Jill gets half of hubby’s military income and military retirement under the provisions of the military spouse protection act.
A quick search for references to abortion, I find some pretty clear resoning, even before her re-appearance (use of English makes me pretty sure this is not Kuba)…

A. Abduction does not include: separating YOURSELF from the group; walking out of the bldg into a taxi; and disappearing without some trace
B. Mental issues can become a reality to anyone. It’s happened before and will happen again, I mean, ‘normal’ people just waking up one day and not being the same.
C. I’ve been to Ganci… tent city, no one in, no one out, except on official business and the occasional tour for R/R. That said, it is not a stretch to believe that ANYONE can become involved with a member of the opposit sex, especially under those kind of conditions. which leads to….
D. Unwanted pregnancies (a possibility) are not taken care of in any ‘tent city’ that I know of. (HEY, don’t shoot the messanger…. it’s a possibility) However, they can be taken care of on the local side. Nevertheless.. that would take some time to accomplish and some rest for the patient following the deal.
E. Ruse, to be used by the Kyrgyz Govt to involve the US Military in some other mission. They have not done anything together before. BUT, this would certainly make good cover to include the US Military on something which we will not know about for some time to come.
Any wierd ideas about her being ‘bride-napped’ (still a cultural practice in Kyrgyzstan) would not hold water since she isn’t Kyrgyz – and I have never heard of it happening to a non-Kyrgyz.
As far as our relationship with the Kyrgyz govt is concerned.. we need them more than they need us. Both Russia and China.. along with others, would love to see us go.
Everything just doesn’t add up… put to the analysis test… the lady had this planned.
Leaves the group ( A BIG NO )
Walks out of the Bldg. (A BIGGER NO)
A couple days before Rotation (I would have slept the time away, rather than take the chance of getting hit by a bus or something)
Sorry… my calculator is shorting out everytime I try to crunch these numbers…..
Here’s the story circulated in Kyrgyz media about Indian Fakirs hypnotizing and robbing local banks in Russian:
http://www.24.kg/investigation/2006/10/02/7705.html
«К сожалению, за два месяца мы так и не обнаружили этих злоумышленников, хотя нам звонили многие горожане и говорили, что видели похожих на преступников людей в городе Канте. Поиски результатов и не дали», – говорит следователь Октябрьского РОВД Анна Баженова.
English translation of an excerpt from news:
“Unfortunately, we couldn’t find those criminals (Indian Fakirs), although there are reports of eyewitnesses that they were seen in Kant town.” – says Anna Bazhenova, police detective, Bishkek’s October District Police.
Well. Good stuff. Kyrgyz cops definitely got tips about Indian Fakirs from US embassy, IMHO.
For the time being Kyrgyz cops kept silent (probably on request from Washington), adhering to non disclosure policy.
Nice legend. Kyrgyzstan and USAF will save their reputations. Kyrgyz and US public will get plausible explanations about Jill Metzger’s trance and bomb story. Indian Fakirs will not be found. Hats off to those who came up with this brilliant idea. When this will start to circulate in Western Media? End of October, perhaps, a bit earlier?
I’ll be quite happy, if things will turn into that direction. At least, some graceful exit from the embarassing situation. Good compromise.
A bit improved English translation of Russian text in previous posting (still ad-hoc, hate doing translations, very boring task):
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find those criminals (Indian Fakirs), although we were searching for them 2 months, despite we got numerous phone calls from residents of Bishkek, reporting that they were seen in Kant town.” – says Anna Bazhenova, police detective, Bishkek’s October District Police.

Good reading this a.m. None of this adds up though. I am amazed the AF has said NOTHING….
Does anyone know if Jill and Josh went on their honeymoon?
“an induced abortion up to 7-9 weeks (which is what the pills are designed for) is pretty much exactly like a really bad menstrual period. There is no identifiable fetus to “dispose of”.”
At 8 weeks gestation the fetus is about the size of a kidney bean and can stretch its arms around to the front of its body. Although this does not take into consideration the size of the sac the baby is contained within. The hands and feet are developed and certainly when the sac is expelled, a woman can see a transparent human being with visible veins in this sack. A very difficult emotional time that is often cited by women who have a chemical abortion is “seeing the baby.” You don’t have that when you have a surgical abortion.
You may not have 1 pound fetus to hide…but there is a very much an identifiable fetus to dispose of, which is often shocking to a woman attempting this method if not counseled appropriately. Often causing guilt and shame if flushing like a goldfish…
Jethro, Jethro, Jethro:
Why do you continue to make assumptions about people? If you don’t like what Deb G. and I are posting then don’t read it. Your accusation is silly. Whoever I am is my business…at least I contribute to the discussion rather than baiting people. I could be Deb G. I could be VR and having a debate with myself. I could be anyone on this board. No one really cares what YOU think unless you have something of value to add to the discussion.
I could be a welfare mother who has had ten abortions, 5 of them medical, 5 of them surgical.
I could be a nurse who worked in an abortion clinic.
I could be A Ph.D. who has done ethnographic studies of terminations and the lengths teens are willing to go to to hide their pregnancy from parents in suburban America.
I could be your neighbor.
Maybe I post my replies from a prison computer?!?!
I don’t feel the need to tell you who owns my computer because, quite frankly, then issue is not “where is your computer located?” it is “where is Jill Metzger?”
Thus…get a life.
Julie: Well said. I have not felt the need to relay what computer I am using or where or even who I am, for that fact. Again, who really cares, it means NOTHING here. In that case, I am Princess Diana reincarnated and blogging on the Wizbang site! Strange thing is, I can’t help but think some of the folks bashing on here would believe that one before believing Jill Metzger did anything wrong!
Julie – we must be sisters!!
“often causing guilt and pain”. This is exactly why I feel she did NOT want her husband in Germany with her. Any normal woman would WANT her husband (especially a newlywed) to be at her side following a kidnapping, beating and ordeal which Metzger claims to have experienced.
Abortion it is then – whether by pill or manual – seems like the best theory thus far.
Julie, I agree with that the “who’s computer are you using” question is as pointless on this board as are personal attacks. In response to your statement to Jethro – “No one really cares what YOU think unless you have something of value to add to the discussion” – I would like to point out that there are many posters on this board who have strayed outside of the topic at hand.
Deb G., where does it say that Jill didn’t want her husband in Germany with her?
“I’m betting there will be no parade, promotion, honeymoon, book, or movie.”
Wizbang, are you saying she won’t ever write a book about the ease of obtaining a “Do it yourself medical abortion in Bishkek or Kant?” “How it feels after you have been caught staging your own abduction,” co-authored with Jennifer Wilbanks? How about…”Back alley abortions after an affair and their complications?”
OK, maybe you are right. Although, if her husband wrote a book, I might read it!
Deb: It must be the whole misogynistic, patriarchal, and homogenous society at work here on this message board (not all of you, of course). Target time and again the people who are willing to identify themselves are strong, confident, intelligent women. And not be bullied into having to defend what and where we post and who pays us. It must be frustrating for them. Keep up the good work, strong willed, sister!
Julie – how does that “add value” to the discussion? If you’re going to criticize Jethro for his outbursts, perhaps yours should go through the same filter. Please don’t read this as an attack, but as I’ve been reading through this board, there seems to be alot of incidences of double standard.
I thought about my last comment’s value and added it to support a fellow woman who is attacked, not specifically because of her comments but because she is a woman…a strong willed woman at that. I think many people would be run off by the people who try to intimidate, bait and condemn.
Jill Metzger is a woman. She is an educated woman who has gone through the ranks of the military. There appears to be a double standard for her compared to a young male E-1 who would have done such a deed.
We live in a patriarchal society. Who have our leaders been? Lawmakers? History writers? Despite the feminist movement, we are still a patriarchal society. Misogyny is not a hidden concept in society, particularly in a patriarchal society, something as simple as sexism can be argued to be misogyny. And I submit we are a homogenous society. We may have different colors among us yet the standard to meet is a certain white middle class, articulate language, a certain dress, education level, etc., or be judged as less than worthy in society. What do people ask when you meet them? “What do you do?” We are judged by our job. From there people can size up your education, salary, etc…
Soon, Jill Metzger will no longer say, I am a Major in the USAF.
More minor factoids:
Metzger pinned on Major while stationed at Manas. She was viewed as a person on the career fast track. She did not volunteer for the assignment.
Her job to police the regulations led to hassles with a number of people including those of higher rank. In public at least, she was a strict and unreasonable bureaucrat at times.
She was seen drinking and socializing with the crowd at the tent on the 4th of July. The beer was of Russian vintage so it could have given her a mild buzz. She was not known for drinking at Manas though.
OK…. It was me.. alright!

Well as Kuba pointed out… it was me who posted on the other site. But being that it was a collection of Air Force peeps, they didn’t want to hear any of it…I left, only to go back again later, but not without posting. WHOA!!! What a pain!
All that says is that I reduced it to the ‘most probable cause’ for her disappearance. So, that changes the date of prediction on the ABORTION THEORY to the 8th of September… two days post ‘abduction/disappearance’…
HA…. catch me.. if you can!
Julie makes good points about sexism and our society. I have wondered if the tone of this board would be different if Major Metzger was a man. Isn’t a man more likely to be taken at his word than a woman? Would anyone call him a ‘runaway groom’ just because he was recently married? I doubt it. If everything from the news remained the same, if all of the “details” about Metzger’s alleged past misconduct as reported by some participants on this board were the same, but Metzger was a man, would the reaction be the same?
Go tell that to Disgraced former US Rep. Mark Foley.
I think what really “FIRED PEOPLE UP” was the outpouring of “I’ve known Jill since kindergarden, and she never squashed a bug, or anything.. and she doesn’t have bad breath, and she bakes cookies, and she is just — well, she is just so perfect!!!”
MY QUESTION TO YOU… Where are all those people NOW? Here’s a sampling of the first posts on this blog…
—————————————
“I will agree with something does not sound correct, but I know her and she would not do anything stupid like disobey rules and regulations….” Posted by Lynn M.
“Major Jill Metzger and I attended college together .. as someone who actually knows her I can assure you there is NOTHING voluntary about her sudden disappearance. As a former anti-terrorism officer in the Air Force Security Forces I can tell you …blah, blah” Posted by: Bill Robertson
“We know her. There is absolutely NO WAY that she would go AWOL. End of story! Please pray for her!”
Posted by: Kristen and Jim
————————————–
Remember… that’s just on THIS BLOG.. So, my take on this has nothing to do with her being a ‘WOMAN’, or sexist, if you will. The rhetoric on the part of the ‘cheerleaders’ seems to have gone off into the hinterland.. echoing through the valleys of the great nation of ours.. not to be heard from again. Too many people came here, and other places with some pretty graphic stuff about ‘goldielocks’ and have exposed a piece of this person which others did not WANT TO BELIEVE!
Where’s the Redhead Infidel.. who so boldly came on here to defend Jill???? haven’t heard squat from her either!! No sirree… not a word.
DM: It is known and was in printed previously in regards to Jill not wanting her husband in Germany.
Julie: You are a very intelligent and informed woman – not to mention strong willed. Perhaps this is why the comparison sister. I guess you could recall the saying of “Strong woman are called Bitches and Strong men are called Presidents and/or smart”. oh well.
I have a feeling that if Ms. Metzger was a Mr. Metzger, he would NOT be getting such white glove treatment and perhaps his story would be public already. The Air Force is protecting Ms. Metzger for several possible reasons. I can imagine they are doing their own investigation, however, if abortion were any part of her “situation”, this is something that according to HIPPA laws and medical confidentiality as well as human dignity might be kept secretive for her. The AF could be sued highly if they went public with the abortion, if that were the case. Because of this reason, they might be desperately hiding this or even trying to figure out how and what to say in regards to no abduction.
Wizzzzzzzzzz: Where have you been? Blog has not been the same without you….
Deb…
I’m still around.. BUT not for long. It’s nice to see that you are still ‘hangin’… you are an inspiration girl…
WIZ:… Hello.. Mr. Metzger, is Jill home?
Mr. Metzger:… Wiz!! How nice of you to call… how ya doing buddy? .. HEY! everyone.. it’s Wiz!
WIZ:… Well, I’m doing ok.. heard about Jill though.. must be tough, eh? How’s she doing?
Mr. Metzger:… Gee Wiz.. don’t know what to say. As you know, we really tried to raise her differently.. I mean we tried everything.
WIZ:… Yea, tell me.. She really can bake some cookies, huh!?
Mr. Metzger:… Well, she really doesn’t do that anymore.. she just buys the stuff like everybody else. She’s also squashing bugs, she farts, she’s got bad breath, she even picks her nose!!
WIZ:… WHOA! That’s gotta be traumatic.. eh!? But, don’t get upset.. it happens to everybody… Well, listen.. just tell I said hi.. gotta go.. chat later.. best to the Mrs..
Wizbanger – “Where are all those people NOW?” That’s an easy question to answer – this blog is not welcoming to people who want to defend Jill. You all are ruthless with EACH OTHER let alone someone who challenges you. And I could understand why friends or family of Jill’s would not want to read the disgusting things that are being said about her. What are they supposed to do? There’s 0% chance that they will be able to dissuade you from continuing just by saying how much they care about her. Above you state that you left the military board of all the “Air Force peeps” presumably because they are FOR her and you are AGAINST her. Is it so hard to understand why supporters of Jill wouldn’t waste their time on this blog?

Ah Wiz: Can always count on you for some great humor. Priceless.
Miss ya around here pal….our Wiz foxhole is missing its Wizard…extra Kevlar needed.
Deb G. – “It is known and was in printed previously in regards to Jill not wanting her husband in Germany.”
Do you know it was printed? I have been following this story pretty closely and I haven’t seen this stated anywhere. If you can cite a source, please share it.
DM: I don’t think you have been following this story as closely as you claim. The information has previously been shared and I was not the original informant or founder of that information, however, I myself did read it in a news article weeks ago, following the situation.
I am also not your research aide nor do I have time to retrieve information which is long old. If, however, I come across it again, I will gladly share it with you. May I ask why you would not believe that small piece of information of Ms. Metzger not wanting her husband there? There were others that cited this information on the blog weeks ago, perhaps you might want to ask them…
Jethro: Your obsession with me is violating stalking laws.
I have never claimed to be anyone so get over it. Nothing wrong with my posts. Strange, I have posted very little until today yet you come along and want me to stop HAHAHAHAHAH sorry, I could care less what you think or say. You obviously have nothing to offer to this “blog”, yes, that is right, a blog area, set up by an individual for well, blogging and responses and theories, harmless thoughts really Jeth. This is not a military OPSEC site my friend. You have been watching tooooo many movies….
Jethro: You write “Any halfwit-terrorist that researches your blog entries can learn way to much.”
Ah, any half-wit terrorist who watches FOX news or several other avenues can learn way too much. I’m not the ones who taught them how to fly planes or fly into buildings or blow up things – did you think I have taught them that by writing on this blog????? I am asking you please, get some better intelligence and smarts about you.
I’ll beg now and ask politely…..if you want to save lives, join the military or the peace corps or donate to several charities who could use your help and go onto as many blog sites as you can, including all the military ones and the Fort Bragg site too (they have way too much info. on there for terrorist, geesh) begging people to get off those sites and let’s ban the news too and close all avenues of communicaation….again, some more intelligence and smarts on your part.
Really Jethro – you’re a bit dramatic and overly concerned about who is blogging here….
DM………
Personally… I think you are being a tad on the “I’m Jill’s friend, so lay off” side… But, let’s leave that for a sec…
I posted on the other site to get a FEEL for what they THOUGHT.(you are welcome to go read what happened) You will also notice a change ‘in tone’ after some of the details were published. (HA!) I’m interested in what people have to say about something. And, to be perfectly honest I enjoy debate – with a penchant for tossing a coin and pursuing either side of the argument.
What do you think… for instance about Global Warming? Do you believe that ‘we’ are responsible for it all, and is the US Govt doing enough to decrease the amount of CO2 going into the atmosphere? Or does big business have so strong a hold on the law makers that they will do whatever in order to keep the cash flow headed in one direction, despite the fact that the rest of the world is ready to do whatever it takes to reduce the CO2 emmisions? There’s a meeting scheduled in Mexico soon to discuss this very topic.. The Bush administration doesn’t think it’s necessary. Here, go read some stuff.. Google it.. Occupy yourself with something that’s important.

Or what about electric cars? Why are we not driving them already? How many patents do you think have been ‘bought’ and destroyed because they would impact the ‘bottom line’ of industry?
Or.. what about food for the hungry.. Do you know how many children die every day as a result of mal-nutrition? How does the figure of 30,000 a day sound?
If you want to argue some of those points.. let’s do it.. OR do you even THINK about it. Are you more prone to FEEL about something than to THINK about it?
So………………… When people come on here and start defending Jill without T H I N K I N G about what happened, then I have a tough time with just accepting what they have to say, because they haven’t thought about it. Nor, as it seems in your case, have they looked into it.
There are some here who do more ‘feeling’ – on both sides of the coin – than thinking. I’m interested in finding out how close I came with my initial thinking on the matter.
DM: If you want to support Jill, by all means do so. However, you do NOT come on here to support her, you come on here to tell people who do NOT support her to support her. That is telling others what to do and how to feel. We don’t tell you how to feel about her and we don’t bash you, we defend OURSELVES against your bashing us. Not a difficult thing here. Say what you have to say, if you believe she was abducted, followed a note, beat up a kidnapper, etc…then so be it. Give us some proof of that – Jill or her family can say nothing about this blog because they OFFER NO EXPLANATION following telling the world that she was missing and abducted, which, by all intention and current speculations is FALSE. I felt badly for an AF Officer missing and then claiming to be abducted, however, now I feel betrayed and lied to. If you want to defend her, offer some theories and speculations of your own about it rather than theories and speculations about bloggers characters and intent. This site is harmless. If you believe she was abducted fine. If I don’t believe she was abducted fine. Who cares – you are entitled to your opinion and others are entitled to theirs. UNLESS YOU HAVE A COMPLETELY CONTROLLING PERSONALITY IS THE ONLY REASON I WOULD SEE WHY PEOPLE COME ON HERE AND BASH MANY OF US WHO DON’T FEEL SHE WAS ABDUCTED…..pretty simple. I also have no respect for anyone who would harbor a criminal and no respect for a fellow officer or military personnel willing to harbor another officer who has done wrong. There is nothing wrong with speculation and here is the best part: ready: IF JILL METZGER OR THE AF WOULD COME FORWARD WITH AN EXPLANATION OR THE TRUTH, this blog would not even be here and you would not be wondering, I would not be wondering, wow, noone would be wondering WHAT THE TRUTH REALLY IS….

Other than the pregnancy and abortion possibilities my comments would be the same and I would be hammering the mental and emotional health much stronger.
I wouldn’t describe a recently married and disappeared husband who was subsequently found with no reasonable explanation as a runaway groom. A runaway bride or groom is the act of disappearing before the marriage becomes legally binding. I’d call either gender’s abandoning the marriage a deserter. However in this case the Major abandoned her duties so although it’s short duration classifies it more legally as AWOL-she actually deserted her military duties and military obligations. If Major Metzger was in control of the time and choosing of her disappearance, the only marriage cause for deserting and abandoning her military duties and place of military duties would have to result from pregnancy and the need to conceal it.
I’m calling BULL on the sexism prosecution complex. Each gender has its advantages and disadvantages in any social or group conflict. If she does go to a court martial would she get the same degree of punishment as a male or would her gender give her leniency in punishment as it does for female teachers who have sex with their minor students.
Major Metzger’s disappearance especially if a pregnancy and abortion was found to a contributing cause does open a significant debate of female gender and combat military capability. Fighting capability depends on military unit readiness. “Unit readiness” refers to the ability of units, such as Army divisions, Navy ships, and Air Force wings, to provide capabilities required of the combatant commands and is derived from the ability of each unit to deliver the outputs for which it was designed. It includes manpower strengths being at 100% and of members assigned being present and there doing the job they were trained to do. Pregnancy of female members is a significant readiness problem and Major Metzger’s disappearance if it involved pregnancy in anyway has the potential of putting this readiness deficiency and the cost to the tax payer and the impairment it causes to winning into full public debate.
For example a pregnant private is loss of just one person available to do the work needing to be done, a pregnant NCO/supervisor/leader/trainer cause a larger impairment to unit readiness. Military obligation is not about job and career but having being there doing capability. It appears from what little is being officially disclosed is Major Metzger abandoned and deserted her posts in a time of war while in a deployed combat operations support duty position. It will be interesting if maximum wartime punishment is even considered if it is found beyond doubt she had complete control and decision making of her disappearance.
You may not have 1 pound fetus to hide…but there is a very much an identifiable fetus to dispose of, which is often shocking to a woman attempting this method if not counseled appropriately. Often causing guilt and shame if flushing like a goldfish…

The normal saline procedure I observed more than participated in was done in the ER and the girl/young adult was never shown the results of the procedure primarily to avoid further emotional trauma. The first one of these procedures I observed certainly had me emotionally confused for a few hours. The reason I was observing the procedure was it induced a miscarriage which is something paramedics are likely to get a call for.
The only thing about the disappearance I can state with certainty is that nothing adds up and lack of official telling what happened gets more peculiar as each day passes.
Geez Deb G. considering that you’re one of the most vocal people on this board, one of the most interested in the story, and seem to have all the information all the time, I didn’t think it was too much to ask where you read that information.
To answer your question, I asking for the source because this is the first time I’ve heard that.
At Deb G.’s suggestion, if anyone knows where it says that Metzger didn’t want her husband with her in Germany, I would appreciate the info.
Deb G. I can’t really see how my asking for a source of information would be considered bashing you. Furthermore, do you make the rules for this blog? Am I allowed to write only if it is to say “I think that this is what happened ____”? I’ve re-read your long rant against me and it seems like you are taking out on me your frustrations with everyone on the board who has opposed you. I was merely asking a question about some information and you completely slammed me. If you want to have an exclusive anti-Jill board, take it into a chatroom. Otherwise, I have just as much right to participate in this board as you do.
I remember where we heard the info that Jill didn’t want her husband at her side in Germany: it was relayed ON THIS BLOG (not in any printed medium) by someone who had TALKED to someone else who had just returned from Manas. This person reported that “he had heard” the story about Jill not wanting her husband there.
I think one of the interesting things about this blog is how we are treating “information” like this. It’s entirely unfounded. Maybe it’s true, but we’re getting it 3rd or 4th hand with no way of knowing how accurate it is. When you consider what we can definitely depend on, it isn’t much at all. Most everything is rumor.
How’s life in crazy town folks?
I’ve changed my views and now think there isn’t nearly enough activity in this thread. Keep up the good work, super-sleuths. You will eventually, with hard work and determination . . . find Carmen Sandiago.
And how dare you ask a question DM. If you haven’t seen the unquestionable evidence from various newspapers around the globe, that’s your fault. This shtuff is proven fact.
And Carmen, if you’re out there and can hear me, Debrah will find you. She’s hot on your trail.
VR – thanks!
DM: I am not bashing anyone on this board. Just seems many come on here to support Jill Metzger. I don’t believe any of us don’t support nor do we support her – that is mute. She (Jill) is just a situation really, a recurring storyline and speculation amongst many. Ok, look, I don’t make the rules here nor do I want to nor have I ever tried to. However, when people come on here bashing others and theories of others, that IS MAKING RULES and trying to be controlling. I have been rather reclusive for days so I will not admit to being one of the most vocals. My vocals come into play in defending rather crude posts against bloggers and yes, myself. Funny, I don’t see anyone posting back to the male bloggers as they do to the female ones….funny how that happens. DM: I have nothing against you, just not into proving anything I say on this board. Yes, there was an article written saying Metzger did not want her husband in Germany, again, if I come across it, I will clip it here for you. However, I don’t go out of my way to sleuth around for deep dark info. on Jill Metzger. If it comes up, well, there it is……
Sickening: Hello, my jealous little creature! In case you have not read the posts, I don’t claim anything to be in stone and have made it pretty clear that my theory is well, my theory alone, show me ONE post of mine which states that someone else is WRONG – yup, didn’t think so, there are NONE LOL……
and sickening – your post makes NO SENSE once again. Regardless of your ill intent to simulate Carmen Sandiago locations or findings, well, this is a blog called “Where is Jill Metzger”, so, the Carmen Sandiago site might be somewhere else in cyberspace, but you have stepped into the wrong blog……
