I can’t quite build a full posting out of any of these, so here are just a few links that I found especially worthwhile:
A CGI artist who worked on the Director’s Cut of Star Trek: The Motion Picture has been re-working the special effects on the original series. He’s got a demo up — a partial re-imagining of The Doomsday Machine — on YouTube. His web site is here. (Hat tip to Scott of amcgltd.com for the link.)
Cue standing headline #7: Would-be pedophile caught by cop impersonating teenager online.
Just like the cobbler’s children are often barefoot, a home improvement warehouse store is found to be a serious fixer-upper.
Here’s hoping that this commemorates the lowest possible point: a nuclear power plant fires its security firm after repeatedly failing terrorist threat drills.
This seems a little disturbing to me, but if it works for them, who am I to judge? Families of service members make do with cutout “flat daddies” and “flat mommies.”
And sorry I missed posting anything yesterday. It was one of those days when I just couldn’t get anything going. Several false starts, but in the end nothing worthwhile would come.
