Minnesota Viking wide receiver Koren Robinson’s trip back to the football spotlight looked like it was complete on Monday after he was featured on the Monday Night Football broadcast by ESPN’s Joe Theismann. Robinson’s alcohol problems, Theismann assured viewers, were a thing of the past and Robinson was now a model citizen – so much so that he went back to rehab over the summer to get a “refresher” course on the values he learned the first time through. Theismann wasn’t the only one heralding Robinson’s return to the NFL’s top ranks of receivers – he was profiled by a Minneapolis news station last week as one of the Vikings team leaders…

Right about now they’re wishing they could take that one back… Just 24 hours after that Monday Night Football appearance, a legally drunk Koren Robinson led police on a 100mph chase, and was arrested near the Vikings training camp.

Say what you like about the Minnesota Vikings’ talents as a football team.
Ya gotta admit, those guys know how to party . . .
Sheesh, and I thought he was an idiot when he was with the Seahawks…. what a moron.
The best you can say is he didn’t participate in a drive-by shooting near the White House.
Typical welfare system graduate of a liberal college with a piece of paper and no education. Give them a few million and they’ll sniff it up their nose in a few months and go back on welfare. We’re supposed to feel sorry for them after we work for 50 years, pay taxes and stay out of jail. BS. Time to make the colleges self supporting or close them down. I’m tired of seeing my money go down a rat hole.
I resent the whole falling off the wagon thing. Sobriety is not recovery. To properly recover, you need to train yourself to be able to drink. Biff has helped me. I no longer drink 3 bottles of wine a night. Most nights two glasses is all I need. I never take out more than one bottle! It is empowering! Would someone who saw me imbibing say that I had fallen off the wagon? Possibly.
But I am not about the wagon BS. I am about recovery. Drink. Just not too much!
Wow Scrapiron you sound like maybe you were drunk when you posted. Liberal college?? South Carolina State? I’ve read your posts before. They are always ignorant and frequently racist, as of course this one is.
Should you reply I’m sure the foam will be dripping from your rabid mouth.
Scrapiron:
You Rock!
I gave up on professional atheletes a long time ago (except golf, of course). I won’t put money into something, so that some idiot can get (90) million dollars to catch one ball and scratch two.
Hugh:
Please, point out the racism in scrapiron’s post.
“Typical welfare system graduate….”
“Give them a few million…..”
He’s talking about a black athlete….his context is clear.
Clear? Only to a closet racist.
Whatever….you wouldn’t have a clue.
Furthermore, is it possible to critize someone who is black, without being labeled a racist, by a liberal?
“Whatever….you wouldn’t have a clue”
Have that statement analyzed sometime. You will find that it is a clear admission of defeat.
Of course it’s possible to criticize someone, black, white, red or green. But “them”? What does that mean?”Typical wefare system….” What does that mean. Open your eyes….open your mind and you might learn something…..not from me of course.
Hugh –
Your interpretation of that statement says a hell of a lot more about you that it does about Scrapiron.
Sabrina;
I appreciate that….I’m proud to point out racist statements and beliefs when I see them.
Kevin,
This thread has clearly devolved to plainly show why SPORTS don’t work on a Political Blog.
“the bandwagon”?
Isn’t the idiom just “the wagon”?
Being from Seattle and a bit of ‘Hawks fan, I’m all too familiar with Robinson’s trials and tribulations.
There comes a point when one loses sympathy, or even empathy, for a person’s problems when they utterly fail to change their destructive ways, particularly a multi-million dollar athlete with God-given talent. It smacks of ungratefulness.
For his sake, I hope the Vikings cut him, void his contract and that his family holds an intervention and he agrees to accept a prolonged treatment.
If not, Robinson will be dead before he’s 40.
What a waste of talent.

I’m a Seachickens fan and have lived in the Seattle area most of my life. Robinson showed both incredible talent and incredibly self-destructive behavior when he was with the ‘Hawks. I doubted that he was smart enough or mature enough to change, and unfortunately I was right. The Vikings took a stupid risk in signing him, especially in the wake of past off-field incidents.
Thank you scrapiron for revealing your true feelings. I wish more of your “brethren” would do the same and stop hiding behind the veil of political correctness. ” Typical welfare system graduate of a liberal college with a piece of paper and no education. Give them a few million and they’ll sniff it up their nose in a few months and go back on welfare. We’re supposed to feel sorry for them after we work for 50 years, pay taxes and stay out of jail.”
You tell em brother, every one knows that all those nigras do is get on welfare, and go to jail. I understand your frustration, why don’t they give those millions to some hard working white stiff who would know what to do with the money. Like pay taxes and stay out of jail 🙂
You guys are classic!
Thanks Hugh, you are like an oasis in a desert of fools 😉
Update:
From ESPN: “(Koren Robinson also received a ticket last week) for driving without a valid Minnesota driver’s license and driving with a suspended license from North Carolina.”
Nice, Koren, nice.
