While making an arrest recently, Boston police made a rather startling discovery: it seems that their fugitive, wanted for drug trafficking in Florida, had decided to hide his AK-47 under a baby crib. It was only by spotting the dangling strap that police discovered the weapon.
The cynic in me wonders if he had decided to use that spot after hearing the furor about a child being searched during a drug raid, a case that came up in the recent Alito hearings…

Now before we jump to conclusions, shouldn’t we check to see if the kid had passed his gun safety course. And was there a safety lock on the trigger?
Considering the rampant crime and violence in the state, it really shouldn’t be surprising that a caring father would arm his entire family. If the kid had nailed an intruder trying to grab his Dad’s stash, would he have been tried as an adult [since he didn’t try to crawl away]?
Did he do it because of the furor?
Naw, criminals have been victimizing their own kids long before a cop acting in good faith with a search warrant had a minor girl patted down by in private by a female police officer …
Kids are used to ferry drugs, as props in shoplifting schemes … and that’s not counting “parents” teaching their kids to be criminals themselves.
