Who says the Indy 500’s better days are behind us? Here’s the driver starting Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 in the 4th spot – Danica Patrick
As the USA Today reports, “the motor sports world is paying rapt attention to Patrick as Sunday’s race approaches,” and it’s not just because of her looks. Patrick is the only the fourth female driver to qualify for the Indy 500, and the first with a legitimate shot to win.
Her racing team, Rahal Letterman Racing, won the 2004 Indy 500, so she’ll have the experienced crew behind her. Other drivers agree, she’s a fierce competitor and won’t be happy with just a top 10 finish.

I saw her on Letterman last night. She’s got a definite swagger/fighter pilot type attitude about her.

I also saw her on letterman last night, good description jmaster. She did a really cool interview, a very special kind of female indeed. I normally never watch that type of stuff, but she had me mesmerized.
My guess, without mechanical problems she will finish in the top five.
And BTW she isn’t the only smokin’ Racing Diva around.
She’s a hottie, all right. She’s also a rookie at Indy, which is why I’m betting she doesn’t finish the race.

Am I the only one here who thinks she looks like a young Tracy Ullman? Nice of her to outwardly show her boredom by yawning at today’s ceremony. I wish her luck, though I know that 30+ men making left turns for 500 miles will have something to say about her chances….
danica . there is only one word to describe her ..WOW…for a rookie who made a couple of huge mistakes and then come out in fourth, if not for those two mistakes she would have been in the winners circle before any of the other guys could have crossed the bricks,if and i do mean if, this was a publicity stunt ,well… it worked ,
kudos to rahal-letterman on thier grand choice to put this super driver in the seat, what a class act for the whole team……you will find me on the edge of my seat again next year.and i hope to find danica on the front edge of the pack again,that is the kind of racing i watched as a kid when the greats like aj , mario, and the unser boys was doing it in the 60’sand 70’s.
