Kerry was on Regis this morning (the TiVo was still on CBS from last night before you mock me) and he bragged about taking money from small children to run his campaign.
First, he told the story of an 8 year old boy selling buttons for Kerry who made $385 and donated it to the campaign.
Then he told the ‘heart-warming’ tale of a 6 year old who spent the summer “out in the street” selling bracelets for John Kerry. He supposedly brought Kerry a tupperware container with $685 in it.
Rather than Kerry telling the child to put the money away for his education, like any good liberal, Kerry took the kids’ money! The real story here is not that 6 years olds know a good candidate when they see one. The story is that these children (if they exist which is doubtful) have freaks for parents.
They’re using their children to raise money for John Kerry when a 6 year old doesn’t really even know what a President is much less that Kerry might be a good one. Rather than the 6 year old spending his summer playing and enjoying being a kid, he has to sweat “out in the street” for his parents’ slavish ideology.
This reminds me of the “Clinton Bake Sales” where Bill Clinton encouraged children to have bake sales at school and send all the money to the federal government.
Nothing like teaching the kids socialism early eh?

By now dozens, if not hundreds, of liberals are frantically googling trying to see if Bush ever took money from children. LOL
Is it not illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to contribute to a political campaign?
Or perhaps only Presidential elections?
Or maybe only to Republicans?
I understand Seniors are also trying to do their part in supporting John Forbes Kerry…

I was going to say the same thing: I’m almost certain this is a violation of campaign finance laws. Any lawyers out there?
I believe it was illegal under the Campaign Finance Reform Law of 2002, but the Supreme Court decision, I believe, says that minors should be allowed to donate to a campaign. You can check it out on the FEC website:

What kind of bracelets was that kid selling?
Someone either summon a congressional commission or forge documents, stat!
Well, not for a campaign that I know, but he has asked children for money. Remember the $1 to Afghan children drive.

Is this post satire?
pulling all the stops out on Kerry bashing now arent ya?
No one has mentioned this, but shouldn’t the question have been asked of Kerry……
Did any of those kids sell Kool-Aid to raise money for his campaign??
Sorry, couldn’t resist……
As The Man at GOP and the City pointed out to me, the kid’s donation isn’t even enough to cover one of Kerry’ haircuts.
I guess that Democrat children are a little more enlightened than their Neocon counterparts. I certaintly knew what the president was when I was 6 years old and our 3 year old son has been to elections with us since he was born.
BTW when he is asks how he votes he proudly answers “I vote Democrat”.
Raising another proud, patriotic Democrat.

Oh sweet gentle Jesus, listen to this tripe from Kerry, his campaign is being financed by The Little Match Girl.
Gimme a break, John.
My children knew a bit about their country and it’s leaders at a young age but I would never have allowed them to be so involved as to spend their time politicking. It’s their time to be a kid and have fun.
On the lighter side:
I remember once when my then 3 year old saw Slick Willie on TV, he pointed and exclaimed “BOZO”. I was proud of him but my liberal brother was upset at the sight and told me so. After giving it much thought, I realized my brother was right and I resolved to apologize to that hard working clown for comparing him to the great stainmaker. It was a true injustice!

My kid doesn’t need to wear a helmet around the house. I think that says something.
Mayhap Dave lives in Illinois or St. Louis, where is three year old can proudly vote Democrat.
Dave, I was a Democrat when I was that age, but I grew out of it. Drove my old man nuts when I rooted for Nixon when I was 10.
Heh heh heh.
“Rather than Kerry telling the child to put the money away for his education, like any good liberal, Kerry took the kids’ money! …”
This technique must be outlined in some sort of Democrat Party fund raising manual. As I recall, Bill Clinton did the same thing in his first bid for the Presidency.
I guess in Dave’s little version of the world, a parrot that can skwawk “Erk I’m a Democrat, erk I’m a Democrat” is much more enlightend than ourselves. Granted the parrot / 3 year old have no clue what they’re saying…
I guess in the liberal world, “Awww, isn’t that cute” and “Wow, your kid shore be smart” is the same.
I’ll tell you… Now, If I was in kerrys postion. What I would have done, (1).Match the child’s money (B). then set up an education fund for the child’s future.(3) Then sell that smaltze crapola on regis’s hard hittin’ show. (If you’re not following along, number three (3) is tongue in cheek!)
I think that child is making the best investment in her future possible. If her investment is successful it will mean much less debt she will have to pay back from GWB and the Neocon’s reckless deficit spending.
I take exception to the thought that my patriotism would involve promoting illegal voting by a 3 year old.
To the guy that became a neocon at 10 years old and drove his parents “nuts”. There are always exceptions when you raise your kids with civic values and sometimes they stray from those values. I am not sure what drove you away from your parents values (political but also other values I assume since you do not share your parents values as is evident in your visceral disagreement with the Democrat’s values). There are many reasons this can happen, maybe your parents were being hypocritical in their political beliefs, I do not know but I feel sad for your family on this point.

Randy- We’ve been thru this… When you can come up with something OTHER THAN the fact Bush got a DUI, I won’t delete your posts.
Get freaking over it. We all knew it 4 years ago. I’m not deleting you because I don’t want people to know — I just mentioned it.
I’m deleting you because you bore the pee out of people. You post the same thing multiple times on every post.
Get a life.
Or at least a new line.
BTW- Welcome back — I kinda missed my own personal pet troll.
Just curious. Why are we bashing the parents in this story for pimping their kids for the Kerry campaign but not bashing the dad who pimped his kid to hold up a Bush/Cheney sign at a Kerry/Edwards mini-rally?
The fact you have to ask shows the sheer futility in my answering now doesn’t it.
Kerry could have gotten so much more mileage — in this world and the next to come — out of those exchanges if HE’D SOLD HIS FRICKIN BICYCLE AND DONATED THE MONEY TO COLLEGE FUNDS FOR THESE KIDS…INSTEAD.
The thing about these children’s scroungings not even paying for one of Kerry’s haircuts is, well, it’s repulsive. It’s disgusting.
Did anyone ask if the proper sales tax was collected with these transactions? This might be the first sale in history the Dems did not want to tax!
