Is there anything cheesier than a Morning Zoo’s Free Money Bunny cash giveaway? Probably not, but I’m willing to give it a try.
Introducing the Wizbang Free Money Christmas Bunny contest, where you can win anywhere from $100 to $250 dollars if you promise to be kind to at least one stranger before Christmas day.
Surely you can be nice to one stranger, right?
The detailed rules are below, but basically if you leave a comment and promise to be nice to at least one stranger before Christmas you’re entered.
Update: The random number generator has spit out #31 as the winner. I’ll save you the counting – it’s Beth of Yeah, Right, Whatever. Unfortunatly for Beth the last digit of the comibined total score in the Hawaii Bowl is 9 (Hawaii over Alabama-Birmingham 59-40) so she was ever so close to winning the $250. Still Beth walks away with the $100 prize.
Thank to everyone for participating, and congratulations Beth!
Keep an eye out for a New Years contest…

I’m in! I’ll definitely be nice to one person, probably more, before Christmas! Merry Christmas to you all also!!!
As a volly firefighter I do nice stuff regularly in general, but in keeping with the Christmas spirit I promise to say something nice to a liberal and not to belittle the French for 4 days…
I promise to be strange to someone who is kind.
Kevin, I am there Baby! This is a great idea!
I’m ready to spread a bit o’ good will around myself.
I’ll be kind to a stranger more than once this Christmas season as well as a number of acquaintances I can help out.
I’m a sort of new reader (since September or so) but have never commented before. I am generally a nice person and do random acts for friends and strangers, but I will make an extra effort this Christmas. As an added bonus, if by chance I win (highly unlikey, since I never win anything) I will give half to http://www.soldiersangels.org.
Okay. I promise I will be kind to a stranger. We just got a batch of really cold weather. So I will be kind to a bell ringer and get him or her something warm to drink. I promise.
For $250, I’m going to spend the next two days running around like a retard giving strangers great big hugs.
I’m willing to volunteer my time telling little kids why we’re seeing less and less Christmas.

I always try my best to be a gentleman, and I say let the trend continue. I promise that I will do something nice for a stranger before Christmas.
I promise to do my best to do a random act of kidness every chance i get this christmas season. As i will be spending the holiday with my inlaws, i cannot gaurantee interaction with strangers, buit i wll endeavor to be nice to mankind and spread goodwill for the rest of the year.
I promise! Merry Christmas!
does giving a quarter to the guy ahead of you in line at Starbucks count? I admit it was to get hime to move on faster, but he appreciated it? No, OK well we’re doing our month stint at the Women’s shelter tomorrow night, that should work. Doing someone else’s laundry on Christmas Eve…
Merry Christmas.
I’m driving 660 miles through three states with two teenagers to visit my father and my wicked stepmother. Thank you for your contest, because it made me think about deliberately being nice to people – I might have been tempted to be just a wee bit crabby otherwise. Seriously, thank you for making me reflect. I promise I will be nice to (many) strangers.
OK, I’ll play along….as Beth mentioned above, us Southern-raised folks are raised on this sort of thing, but I’ll commit to a random act of kindness or five in the next two days.
Starting right now…

…done.
I’m British. If I haven’t been nice to two people before breakfast I’m probably still asleep. Count me in. In fact, if I win donate my prize to the charity of your choice.
Kevin, I will most definitely go out of my way to at least one stranger before Christmas day. While I like to think that I don’t normally need an incentive to be nice, thanks for the opportunity to win some much needed cash! Happy holidays and Merry Christmas!
Yeah- I’m in.
(Hmm- something nice for a stranger? My parents taught me right…)
I’m in. I’ll be nice for a month for cash. 🙂
I never look for recognition or rewards for being nice, but I’d like my name added to the list and if I win, I’d like the prize to go to the students in this story:
When there’s something RIGHT with our nation’s kids
I can provide contact information if “I” win.
As a Chief Scout, I promise to hunt down Jean Chretien and give him the beating he so richly deserves. That would be something nice for all the Canadians who didn’t vote Liberal.
But seriously, I promise to do something nice, directly, to someone whom I have little contact with.
However, to garner more brownie points, if I should win, can you just forward the cash to Spirit of America?
I promise to be kind to strangers!
My wife, 5 kids, and I look forward to making the rounds of our neighboorhood and singing christmas songs (despite the fact that most of our neighboorhood is Jewish) The Banana bread that my wife makes each year wins them over anyway! Awesome contest Kevin… keep up the good work.
GO HAWII!
Sounds good. I’m in.
I promise to be kind this holiday season and not to forget the pass part of the phrase “puff, puff, pass”…
$
Does visiting dKos count? He certainly is strange, if not a “strange[r].”
Or maybe Howard the Duck, being nice to the mentally handicapped is easy and I don’t know him from Adam.
THANKFULLY!
I promise to be kind to strangers. Merry Christmas!
I’m in. Strangers, be ready for some holiday cheer!
I actually promise to be nice to 5 strangers during the holiday season.
I am leaving the house right now to find a stranger to be nice too.
I really liked the comment about random acts of strangeness to kind people… it explains a lot that’s happened to me over the years!
I promise to be nice to the strangers I meet tomorrow. Including my family members, who are stranger than most.
I’ll do it! The old verse, “love your neighbor as yourself” always made me wonder why love was so limited to the people next door. But wait…it really means “the person standing next to you at any particular time.”
Okay. I’m in. Now, I’m off to the shopping mall to see if I can find someone in need of kindness. Do you think it will happen?
I’m in.
Count me in. Even though I am EVIL.
I’m totally in. Though being nice to strangers in Miami is like giving your dog a biscuit only to have it pee on your shoes and your couch, it’s totally doable!
Strangely, I was kind to a random stranger yesterday. Poor guy did’t speak the local lingo so we had to gather round and work out if any of us spoke one he did. My French won and we have a nice discussion with the ATM machine in French so that he could get money out.
If I win, find some needy person round your way and drop the cash on them.
Why not? I will attempt to be nice to a stranger.
I promise to be nice to at least one stranger before Christmas.
I intend to be kind to strangers and non strangers alike, this day, tomorrow and all days to follow, as long as I’m around this Island Earth.
Now, I have to be kind to everyone on this thread and finish reading all the many comments that preceded this one…
Merry Christmas to everyone!
I promise to be kind and say “Merry Christmas” to everyone in the local ACLU parking lot.
Thanks, Kevin!!! Merry Christmas!
This was based on random numbers, not by what people do? How unfair is that? I’ve lead an ultruistic life but it doesn’t count. UNFAIR – just pick a number out of the bowl and that person wins?
What joke.
Didn’t think this was fair at all Kevin. You should have said that every contestant would be a number and like in BINGO, a winner would be picked out randomly – not by someone really doing something nice for someone else. Next time please me more specific.
Cindy
PS Out of those random names, anyone decent for me to date?
Heres one to make you smile… I met an older couple celebrating their 60 anniversary…I asked how were you able to get to 60 yrs of marriage without divorcing? The elderly gentleman said, no matter what was said, no one left, no matter what the disagreement was about, no one left, no matter who said it, no one left… that is my key to success. I am not sure how to enter to win this cash but could sure use it. I hope to win cash on New Years to make a car payment and for nothing less. With that said I want to say Happy New Year and hope its better than 2004 for everyone!

I will be extra kind to seniors as I have just read a survey that many seniors do not have a chance to have a chat with other people for weeks on end, as everbody is so busy.
