Yes, impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney. The plan is already in place should the Democrats take over the House:
A plan is in place to censure and impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney. Orchestrated and organized by the radical Left and Congressman John Conyers, Jr., this plan is ready to go should the Democratic Party take control of the House of Representatives in November.
The plan is the ultimate manifestation of left-wing hatred for George W. Bush rooted in the contentious election of 2000. Since failing to defeat Bush in 2004, the Left has focused its efforts on destroying his presidency by assembling a list of charges aimed at impeaching him.
Impeachment plans began seriously coalescing in 2005, after the NY Times published classified aspects of the NSA surveillance program. In mid- December of that year, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-CA, asked a group of presidential scholars whether President George W. Bush had committed an impeachable offense when he authorized the NSA foreign surveillance program. John Dean, the long-time Bush critic of Watergate fame provided Boxer with the answer she and most other Democrats were looking for: “Bush is the first president to admit an impeachable offense,” he said.
Around the same time, Senator John Kerry, D-MA, told a gathering of 100 Democrats that, should they capture the House in 2006, there would be a “solid case” for impeachment based on President Bush’s “misleading” the American public over prewar intelligence. Kerry was picking up where another prominent Democrat had, on November 1, 2005, left off. On that day, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid called a rare closed Senate session with other Democrats to look into the “misinformation and disinformation” used by the Bush administration to justify Operation Iraqi Freedom.
If the Dems take over the House, successfully impeach and convict President Bush and Vice President Cheney, guess what would happen as a result. President Nancy Pelosi.
It sounds far fetched, but that appears to be the Democrats’ plan:
They’ve already introduced H.Res 635 (complete with 37 Democrat cosponsors) to investigate articles of impeachment, H.Res. 636 (18 cosponsors) to censure President Bush, and H.Res. 637 to censure Vice President Cheney.
Greg Tinti informs us that the nutroots desperately want it to happen.
Don’t forget, if the Dems take over the Senate, they could conceivably get what they want. It would be political suicide, but I don’t think they care about that. They want power, and they don’t care how they get it.
Today, the Washington Times published an article, which reports that conservative voters may stay home on Election Day:
The Republican Party can stave off defeat with a strong turnout on Nov. 7, party leaders are telling the faithful — but they are finding it tough to sell that message to some disillusioned conservative voters.
“The message hasn’t gotten across because a lot of people are sick and tired of thinking the only reason for going to the polls is to vote for the Republicans because they are lesser of two evils,” said Tom McClusky, vice president for government affairs at the Family Research Council (FRC), a leading social conservative group.
“Conservatives aren’t motivated to come out, is what I’m finding,” said conservative campaign consultant Rick Shaftan, who is based in Sparta, N.J. “They see no reason to re-elect the people who are in office.”
A top Republican pollster confidentially echoed those sentiments.
“There are very definitely trouble signs in many states of what we call the ‘LRs’ — the lethargic Republicans,” said the pollster, who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity. “They are unhappy with the president and have little love lost for Congress.”
There’s little danger that such voters would switch to the Democrats, but “the real problem is that they won’t vote at all,” the pollster said.
Those conservative voters considering staying home may want to rethink their decision.

Or consistently, for that matter.
JimK,
I just simply followed your logic. You would rather not vote for the Rep this cycle. It means that you would rather see the Dem win. The consequence of a Dem congress is higher taxes and even higher spending.
I am just asking a question. Is this your logic? If not, what are you trying to imply?
Diane, a nice list you have there. Thanks.
Hey Wingnuts how are things going for ya? It’s been awhile since I’ve posted here and I see not much has changed. I’ve been busy manipulating that evil MSM for a living. The only difference I see from a month ago here is there are less posts per thread and you right wing guys and gals seem to be a bit screechy and desperate. Here is my prediction, Americans will soundly turn away from the conservative movement (which really hasn’t been conservative for some time now) at the polls Nov 7th. I predict that America will not fold, will not fall down, and will not be destroyed just because the political pendulum has swung back away from the right and more toward the center. The sun will come up in the east and set in the west and the banks and stock market will stay open.
Now it’s up to Diebold as to how many seats are lost. Heaven help us if our (and I mean our right, center and left) democracy is toyed with by the code heads at the right wing Diebold company. Can you say treason? Can you say civil disobedience? How would a national work stoppage affect your bottom line? Remember “if you ain’t got nothin’ you got nothin” to lose.”
No, it most certainly does NOT meant that, and it’s that sort of simple-minded nonsense that has ruined politics in this country and is threatening the very fabric of the republic.
The Republicans deserve to lose Congress.
HOWEVER. SEPARATE STATEMENT. ALSO. Are you getting that the following sentence is disconnected from the first, and that both can be true at the same time?
The Democrats do not deserve to win control of Congress.
What I want are Republicans that act like Republicans, not Bushpublicans that act like Democrats who happen to be pro-war. I fail to see how rewarding the Bushbots and criminals we currently call the GOP will ever affect any change at all.
Yes, there are similar scum on the other side, but that is, as I said, a separate issue. I’m voting for one Democrat this election cycle…Joe Lieberman. It’s not like I’m staying home or abandoning all Republican candidates. My point was, and continues to be, we *have* to stop the team cheerleading and start voting for the best candidates. Since we on the right pride ourselves on being smarter, more honest and committed to better ideals which, if properly implemented would improve America for all Americans, we should be demanding better candidates *NOW*, not 2, 4 or 6 years from now. Instead all I hear lately is fear, uncertainty and doubt, and that’s NOT coming form the press, it’s coming frm right wing bloggers and the RNC.
To Diane: EXCLELLENT response! You have indeed reminded me of a few more things that I had forgotten over the past few months. Thank you.
See, people? It’s possible to talk about positives and accomplishments without ever mentioning Democrats and what they *might* do. Diane proved it. I’d love to see bloggers all over the blogosphere take those ideas and goals and talk more about them instead of trying to scare everyone with the Boogey-Pelosi.
Jim
fail to see how rewarding the Bushbots and criminals we currently call the GOP will ever affect any change at all.
Grow up.
Also -saying that you know commanders that are in Iraq badmouthing Rumsfeld-in your first post-you can let them speak for themselves.
I have no respect for people that use language like “Bushbots” while they think that THEY are the true Republicans and at the same time pretending to speak for commanders over in Iraq.
Speak for yourself. Don’y try to gain authority by proxy through the commanders you supposedly know over in Iraq.
JimK,
After a long post, I am still not clear about what you want to do. Are you going to vote against the Rep this cycle? Are you demanding better candidates by allowing the Dems to win this election cycle? Since the Reps are not giving you 100% of what you want, you wouldn’t vote for them?
You claimed that the Reps deserve to lose this election cycle. It means that you would rather see the Reps lose this election. Then the Dems win by default even you don’t think they deserve to win. This is the logical conclusion of your arg: you would rather see Dems than Reps win Congress this cycle.
Can we agree on this now? This is your own logic.
Rory, are you reading what I actually write, or what you *think*I am writing? because you;re not making any sense. I never said I personally know anyone in Iraq…if I do, I do, if I don’t, I don’t. I said I knew commanders on the ground were saying that bad decisions were being made. We all know that is true.
See, I read these things called news reports. I read a LOT of them, from hundreds of pagers and dozens of agencies. I read milblogs. I try to pay attention to what people who know more about it than either you or me are saying.
So there’s that.
Also, up a little higher you seem to be under the impression I am sitting the election out. Where’d you get that idea? Oh, I know…you made it up in your head, because I never said it. In fact I said the opposite.
Reading comprehension is clearly not your strong suit, so this’ll be my last communication with you on this issue…too many people are saying good, insightful things for me to waste my time with someone who can’t understand what is being discussed.
*sigh*
Nevermind, I guess. I really can’t say it any plainer than I did. Both things are true. Apparently you live in a binary world where things are completely one way or the other. So…uhh…nice chatting with you I guess.
In fact…I have to get up mighty early in the morning, so it’s been nice hashing this out with everyone. Except Rory. ‘Night all.
JimK,
BTW let ‘s not waste more time on this dancing. In the real world, either the Rep or the Dem will control congress in the next 2 years. We simply don’t have a 3rd alternative.
You would rather have the Rep or the Dem control congress? Let ‘s be honest here.
Oh you read the MSM and milblogs….
I’m part of the active duty community and believe me there are plentyof Bushbots in the military.
I’ve long ago predicted that President Bush will not be impeached but could well be the first President to commit suicide while in office. I’m not trying to be mean or wishing for this but I’m just saying considering the situation, the facts, his denialist out of touch with reality personality it could happen.
A Pelosi presidency looks like a real possibility. It will be nice to finally have a President that the whole country will respect….you know since Republicans respect the office no matter who is in.
Anyway I hope indeed some accountability will be invoked. I suspect some significant eye-opening events in the course of the impeachment hearings. Ideally Bush and Cheney will simply resign rather then put the country through the process. There’s a lot of work to be done considering what a mess the Republican slobs have made of our country.
However, hopefully the Democrats will use their time more wisely ….

Yeah like the Repugnikans did with Clinton chasing him down for 20 year old events, firing people in the travel office and for a personal issue……SORRY SWEETY ITS PAYBACK TIME and this time the crimes are real, people have died and our country has been set back 10 years. Time won’t be wasted if these two criminals resign as they should.
I think you’re wrong about what happens if Bush and Cheney are impeached.
First of all, Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t automatically become President. That’s if Bush and Cheney die.
In the event that they’re impeached successfully ( convicted – Clinton was impeached, remember, but not convicted ), then the President would be elected by the vote of Congress. And unless I’m wrong, a REPUBLICAN would have to be chosen.
It would be like the dog finally catching the bus. After they immediately surrender to the islamofascists, they’ll have to either repeal the 2nd, 4th and 5th Amendments and put troops in the street, or find other countries to hide in. I, for one, won’t put up with a political coup, and I won’t be alone. My ancestors didn’t fight in the Revolutionary War to have a cabal of political loonies take over our government. MoveOn.org will seem like the Cub Scouts compared to the revolution in the streets….

Looks like you just made the top of Pelosi Enemy Combatants list for Extraordinary rendition to a blackops site in an unknown country….tssk tssk.
Rory, you also can’t spell “consistantly” consistently. It’s a good thing being literate isn’t a requirement for armed service, else Bush would have to impose a draft on all of the blue states.
Nov. 7th, bitches.
Lovin’it
F u f stain!
Did I spell that correctly??
muirgeo, you’re OK with wasting the last two years of Bush’s presidency with concocted political theater in the middle of a global war? You’re OK with Nancy Pelosi as president? Is that how you think Democrats should return to power?
I don’t care how much you hate Bush. Some things are just plain wrong, and they transcend partisan politics. Taking over the country with political manouver like some real-world John Grisham novel is one of them. All politics and all bullshit aside, I can think of few things that would do more damage to our country.
“A Pelosi presidency looks like a real possibility. It will be nice to finally have a President that the whole country will respect….”
Muirego, I do hope you’re not serious. I think conservatives dislike Pelosi even more than liberals dislike Bush. Even a lot of democrats I know don’t like Pelosi.
Some of the commentary here is downright funny. Muirgeo being flat out hilarious.
JimK, I wholly understand your chagrin. I feel it too. But this is a little more serious than that. If you think the situation is untenable now, wait until the Dems get control. The last thing we need is more gov’t control, more entitlements and every state on our southern border with Mexico ruling by default of numbers of illegals. And do we really want Congress tied up in hearing after hearing in which nothing constructive will be done?
Sometimes I don’t think the Dems want control, but “revenge” for losing control. Just read Muirgeo’s comment again – “PAYBACK TIME”.
And look at “live@9″‘s comment – “…just because the political pendulum has swung back away from the right and more toward the center.” The center? Over the past few decades the overall political atmosphere has been drifting left and further left. What these people call the “center” now was not too long ago the “left”. What is now called “liberal” used to be “socialist”. The classic definition of liberal is lost and gone. Being a liberal now is firmly in the socialist camp and now a significant number of those who call themselves liberal are outright leftists. Gov’t healthcare, more gov’t regulation, gov’t seizing of “windfall profits”, multiculturalism, PCism, coerced self censorship, etc.
None of us wants to vote against the other guy. We all want someone to vote for. But that’s not the reality right now. Want to end up further left? Then stay home or vote Dem. It’s as simple as that. Or vote Republican and quit being the silent portion of the citizenry. Start demanding they behave as the conservatives they claim to be.
The Dems have held the microphone for far too long even in a Republican majority government. Quit whining and start making demands and forcing accountability. The liberal leftists in this country speak loud and clear to their candidates and their candidates listen to them. We need to do the same thing. We have a voice now. A voice other than just an occasional op-ed piece in a newspaper. And we need to use it.
I’m blogging on it pretty much nonstop. All that keeps running through my head is SPEAKER PELOSI – and God forbid, anything happens to our President and Vice President – oh it’s just too horrid to contemplate!
Rory is on active duty in the military? I’m beginiing to undersatnd why we’re losing the war. Do we have no standards anymore?
If they try this and succeed (fat chance!), they will find themselves losing the House, Senate and Presidency in 2008 by margins that will cripple them for decades.
If Pelosi becomes President, do you think she’d make it legal to kill Bush “conservatives” and eat thier children? If so, sign me up!!!!!
November elections please hurry!
Can you say Nancy Pelosi? Ahhhhhhhh it sounds so good!
“I’m blogging on it pretty much nonstop. All that keeps running through my head is SPEAKER PELOSI – and God forbid, anything happens to our President and Vice President – oh it’s just too horrid to contemplate!”
Trust me Gayle, nothing will happen to your president or vp. The devil takes care of his own;)
Oh, and Gayle, I will tell you what’s too horrid to contempplate: Two more years of a bunch of boy chasing, money grubbing thieves in control of our government!
Better “boy chasers” than illegal leakers like Harman.

…Seeing as Foley, again, did not actually commit a crime.
Better “boy chasers” than illegal leakers like Harman.

Really, Mike? Something we need to know about you personally? Or are you just demnstrating the absolute lack of morals and ethics common to Republicans everywhere?
