Iran Terror Plot Busted… In DC

The Obama administration, fronted by Attorney General Eric Holder, says the US has uncovered and foiled a plan to bomb the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, DC — and the plot was backed by Iran’s Qods force, which has been killing Americans in Iraq.

Further, the plot was to enlist a Mexican drug cartel to help get the explosives and weapons into the US across the southern border.

One of the plotters is in custody; the other is still at large.

Naturally, there are those who think that the timing on all this is more than just a coincidence, as here we have Holder playing the hero at a time when he is likely looking down the barrel of a Congressional subpoena over Operation Fast And Furious — which involved supplying weapons to the same Mexican drug cartel that was supposed to be involved here, the Sinaloa cartel.

This could definitely put a bit of a hold on plans to dig into Fast And Furious, as Holder and others can now claim to be a bit too busy with real problems.

But you know what? I’m OK with that. I don’t have the best of memories, but I’ll remember this one long enough to allow Holder to deal with the parts of this plot he needs to attend to personally before we haul his ass before Congress to explain himself.

Meanwhile, though, if this all plays out (and I’m going to say I’ll take Holder and the Obama administration’s word that this information is solid), Iran is committing acts of war against the United States. It’s Obama’s duty to respond to this appropriately.

And by “appropriately,” I mean “with high explosives.”

Update: The two suspects are both Iranian-born American citizens. Further, there are some who are claiming that, technically, this does not constitute an “act of war” by Iran as there was no act of violence. Personally, I subscribe to the Reynolds Doctrine — “Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill ’em right back!”
