Class Shows

Last week, during the Democratic National Convention, John McCain bought an ad during the final night — and used it to congratulate Senator Obama on his accomplishment.

Then, the day after the convention adjourned, he announced his running mate — roughly a week after Obama named Biden his running mate. In each case, it was done on the Friday before their respective conventions convened.

Tonight, the night John McCain formally accepts the nomination, Barack Obama will be giving his long-awaited interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, ending about an hour or so before McCain is scheduled to speak.

Dare I question the timing?

The spin from the Obama camp has been “old and tired vs. youth and energy.” In this case, I think it’s more a case of maturity and grace and good manners vs. petulant adolescent attention-seeking.
