Dr. Sanity has a must read post on the way the media and those on the left are setting up the coverage of the upcoming election so that either way it goes, the Democrats will have their story ready to go live. If the Dems lose they will have the tried and true, the “Republicans stole the election” defense. I think that some will buy it, but it really is a stinker because it is only possible to pull that one out so many times before you start to sound pathetic.
Well, if you read the Miami Herald, votes are already being “stolen.” Who knows what the story will be? If I ran a network it would be that country is getting exponentially more dumb.
Where is your “Good News from Iraq” section? That was my personal favorite of yours. (that and your Keith Olbermann’s sex life section)
Looks like the Republican crooks in Florida are already busy trying to steal the election…
Several South Florida voters say the choices they touched on the electronic screens were not the ones that appeared on the review screen — the final voting step.
It’s time to return ownership of America back the People. Don’t let the crooks get away with this.
Gee jp2, you mean the Democratic vote stealing machine is already at work in FL? ACORN in full swing with voter fraud? Hoping to get the dead vote to keep up it’s 80% leaning to Democrats? Smuggle enough illegal aliens to register to vote with no ID?
Maybe it’s because the Dems cannot conceive of actually winning an election so they go out of their way to try and steal them and think that’s the only way you can win.
Yes, I’ve already seen numerous Lefty trolls talking about Diebold swiping the elections.
That there are no facts to support the allegation does not trouble the Loony Left.
Whilst I was typing, my very point was being proved per the above.
Did Lee even read the Dr. Sanity link or does he enjoy being the resident Liberal Straight Man?
…it is only possible to pull that one out so many times before you start to sound pathetic.
“So many times” = what? Once? No, because it sounded pathetic the first time they used it back in 2000.
Here’s a quick primer on how the left thinks:
Democrats win = “proof of a fair election”
Republicans win = “proof that the election was stolen”
As it has been for the last 6 years, they don’t actually need to provide any real evidence. That Republicans win is all the proof they need and think we need to believe it.
“Debra A. Reed voted with her boss on Wednesday at African-American Research Library and Cultural Center near Fort Lauderdale. Her vote went smoothly, but boss Gary Rudolf called her over to look at what was happening on his machine. He touched the screen for gubernatorial candidate Jim Davis, a Democrat, but the review screen repeatedly registered the Republican, Charlie Crist.”
That’s because:
1) Demoncrats are TOO STUPID, and/or
2) Debra’s boss is dumber than a rock and the computer had to fix his vote for him….
ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Get a REAL job Lee
One aberrant vote tally, testified to by a Dem partisan, equals vote rigging.
That’s enough evidential weight for all the Dem favorites=global warming/cooling/Bush lied/etc.
Buncha freakin lunatics.
I agree with steak111111, these people are really stupid or the biggest liars in the state of Florida, being democrats, either will fit.
Democrats never learn, they always try to claim the impossible. Crooked machines to crooked veterans. Every time they try the ‘i’m a vet and I saw this’, they pick someone that was never in the service, someone never in the combat zone or someone easily proven a criminal and a liar as the latest Mo. wonder was. Catshi* or whatever her name is dropped him like a redhot horseshoe in a blacksmith shop. Now the numbnut Wesley Clark has picked him up. Old Wesley never was much of a general and he’s not much of an American either.
Just read a link over at Drudge where the dead are once again voting for the democrats 4 to 1 over the GOP.
You gotta hand it to the dems. They are painfully aware that without voter fraud, they usually cannot win.
I especially like the way the Republicans keep stealing the votes with massive fraud in places with elected Democrat election officials, like Broward County, Florida.
Hey, don’t disenfranchise the zombie vote.
Cirby, lol.
Damn we’re good.
jpm, you beat me to it!
“The Dead Have Rigts, Too!”
“Vote Democrat: We Stand With the Dead!”
Touch screens do need to be recalibrated on a rare occasion. I’m finding it difficult to believe that these are having so many problems and that ALL the errors indicate a Republican choice rather than a Democrat choice.
We work with touch screens everyday. High volume pecking at 4 screens constantly for 14 hours a day / 7 days a week and we only have to recalibrate a screen once in a blue moon. When they do get out of whack, it’s never always the same. This story would indicate that all the screens are getting out of whack exactly the same every time. How one touches the screen makes a difference too. The flat of the finger can make a very sensitive screen produce an erroneous result. I see women tapping them pretty hard with their fingernails which damages them too. A sleeve or the knuckle of another finger might brush it and hit an undesired part of the screen. Then, if it’s not an acticve matrix screen, some idiot will wipe it with windex or some other chemical which messes them up.
Actually, active matrix is what they really should be using. They never have to be calibrated.
We’re not getting the whole story from the Herald. I guarantee it. Someone is trying to build early rage in the Democrats.
We all know that Chavez is not a fan of Bush, so I’m willing to bet this won’t be going for the Republicans.
I don’t hear ACORN or any others on the left saying that the vote may be compromised by this. Oh, that’s right. It’s probably in their favor, so it must not be fraud.
I’m finding it difficult to believe that these are having so many problems and that ALL the errors indicate a Republican choice rather than a Democrat choice.
Well, you should feel better, since the only a few Democrat-sourced anecdotes show that THREE (not “all”) errors resulted in a Republican getting a vote instead of a Democrat.
If you want to attribute this to malfeasance, you should also take into consideration that it might be a screwup by some Democrat (picked by the local Democratic Supervisor of Elections) trying to hack the machines, but getting a flag wrong in the software. If it were someone at the voting machine company fiddling with things, the vote would show up as cast on the summary screen, but register as the other party in the electronic output.
Sorry, Lorie. I know this is off topic.
“Well, you should feel better, since the only a few Democrat-sourced anecdotes show that THREE (not “all”) errors resulted in a Republican getting a vote instead of a Democrat.”
The story leads one to believe otherwise, fueling conspiracists to think there is malfeasance.
I haven’t seen the voting machines so I don’t know how they’re programmed. But then again, in Florida, we can’t even punch a manual ballot 😉 But in one instance I witnessed myself, a waitress was trying to hit one of three buttons which didn’t automatically trigger the next screen. She was only allowed one choice. She had to press “next” to go to the next screen. When she hit “next” it kept showing a choice she didn’t intend. After watching her do it several times I realized the sleeve of her blouse was brushing a choice below the one she wanted, thereby negating the button she first pressed with her finger. It was bad programming and a long sleeve that caused it. Thankfully, it wasn’t hard coded that way and I fixed the programming problem.
Another waitress wanted to ring up a coke on another screen and everytime she did it, it would order the coke and a 7up. She was allowed up to five choices on that screen before it triggered the next screen. The way she was holding her hand, the knuckle from her pinky finger was ringing up the 7up as well.
All sorts of explanations are available for many things that often end up just being user error.
I see the New Jersey race for U.S. Senate. I see it close between the effete Republicans’ underwhelming Son of Keane and the rotten Democrats’ Crook Menendez. If it continues this close, I see Dems easily grabbing it for their Crook Memendez by, uh, “special efforts” in their Camden and/or Newark Plantations where Republicans, and even some Democrats, fear to tread.
Do I need new glasses?
ps Incidentally, WSJ’s John Fund, who’s written a book on election fraud, says there is strong possibility that many of next week’s elections will wind up in court, and absentee ballots will make it even worse.
One aberrant vote tally, testified to by a Dem partisan, equals vote rigging
So how many aberrant votes beore we should we start getting worried?
