I’m way busy but I had to stop and blog 2 things.
#1) I’ve been contemplated doing this all day but now I see it’s been done. I was considering starting it but now I might join it.
#2) And it other news, there are moonbats on the right too. The difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that on the right side, we call out our (few) crazies… The Democrats make them party chairmen.
I’m thinking the same thing. We are blogging the unofficial countdown on our measly blog http://inre.typepad.com/in_re/2005/08/unofficial_mast.html
but the more the merrier, with all the stress leading up to such a momentous event, Charles is going to need all the help he can get. Especially since he’s trying to keep a daily countdown. That’s hard!
I think it’s a bit of a stretch to compare Robertson to Dean. Deam may be too wacky for your taste, but c’mon. This is just one in a series of seriously over the top statements from Robertson, including blaming the 9/11 attacks on the moral decay in America (and I know how you all hate the whole Blame America crowd.) It’s slick to say that you recognize Robertson as a moonbat, but to review, in 1988 he won the Minnesota Republican primary, won the Washington caucuses, finished 2nd in Iowa (getting more votes than GHW Bush)and was 3rd in South Carolina. He can also get George Bush on the phone any time he wants and continues to be a powerful figure. So let’s not pretend he’s the crazy uncle in the attic. I don’t claim that he represents all Republicans, but election results don’t lie. I don’t recall Al Sharpton ever doing as well.
Robertson flamed out 17 years ago, Chris.
He can also get George Bush on the phone any time he wants…
Kindly produce the White House phone logs to support this contention. ‘Cause I’m thinking it’s merely your assumption. Kind of like if I assumed Michael Moore could’ve gotten President John Kerry on the phone anytime. It might be true, but I’d have no way of knowing.
…and continues to be a powerful figure.
“Powerful?” I don’t think that word means what you think it means.
The difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that on the right side, we call out our (few) crazies… The Democrats make them party chairmen.
Umm, you made one President and an other (Rove)his advisor.
You hit the nail right on the head.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that republicans are any more vigilant in calling out their crazies… because a good majority of their nutjobs are senators or are in the administration itself.
