Quite a few other people have already brought this up, but it really, really does deserve a bit of attention.
Cindy Sheehan, while staying in Crawford, Texas, during her “vigil” outside President Bush’s ranch, is tying herself closely with the Crawford Peace House. Solomonia has done an amazing job of digging into the “Crawford Peace House,” whose solution to all the world’s problems seems to be “Blame Israel” and “Get rid of Israel.” I didn’t do too much digging, but it appears that Israel is to blame for 9/11, the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal, the ongoing struggle in Iraq, and quite possibly the heartbreak of psoriasis.
Way to go, Mrs. Sheehan. You’ve let these nutcases put their anti-Semitic agenda on a world stage now over the body of your son.
But somehow, I don’t think you mind that too much.
Someone should tell her that she agrees with David Duke.
I’m thinking that we’ll be hearing about Howard Dean is getting divorce to marry Cuindy any day now. Talk about a perfect match.
That’s pretty original, of COURSE it’s all Israels fault.
Nutter.
At least you’ve found a new way to slime Ms. Sheehan—it’s just as big a lie as all the others, but at least it’s new.
The Crawford Peace House advocates a permanent and peaceful right ro exist for both Isreal AND the Palestineans.
I am disheartened—but not the least bit surprised—to see you spreading this unsubstanitated and despicable pack of lies.
Don,
Take a look at what they’ve deleted from their website. Turns out they view Palestine as the whole land that is now Israel. Hmmmmmmmmm.
I have seen the page you refer to Joe. Have YOU?
It clearly states:
The path to peace in the Middle East lies through the hearts of Palestinians and Israelis. Most are exhausted by the spiral of violence that marks their lives….Israelis deserve to carry on the activities of daily living without fear of being blown to bits.
If you’d stop repeating the slanders of the right-wing media and actually read for a change, you’d know this already.
Then why is there a map showing all of Israel marked Palestine being held by a protestor? The progression of maps is, of course, designed to imply Palestinians were thrown out of their homes, conveniently ignoring the various let’s-kill-all-the-Jews wars the Arabs have launched since 1948.
Why are we still handling Ms. Sheehan with kid gloves? She is not a dupe of any kind. If you listen to her speeches you will find the rantings previously contained in the dungeons of DU. Her father-in-law has hinted that she was a moonbat before Casey Sheehan was killed. Now she is displaying her full idiocy before the whole world, using the death of her son to be heard. If Casey had not died, she would have been relegated to posting her vile BS on DU.
Looks like her husband is doing something about it.
Joe, on the page you refer to a protester holds a sign with 4 maps of Israel with different areas shaded. There is NO indication of what the sign means, what areas are shaded, etc. You ASSUME—because you don’t take the time to think or read—that “they view Palestine as the whole land that is now Israel.”

Why are we still handling Ms. Sheehan with kid gloves?
I think the gloves are starting to come off. I’d like to remain respectful of the family, so digging up legal records seems a bit questionable (sorry, mesablue – good info but I’m a little queasy about posting such stuff right now); but, Mrs. Sheehan is inviting heavy scrutiny now. She’s making a bed she may not want to lie in.
I know the left won’t see this, because they are blinded by the possibility that Ms. Sheehan is their return ticket to relevance, but…
I truly believe the left will rue the day that the formed ranks behind Ms. Sheehan. She is turning out to be an archetypical liberal, and not even close to representative of the vast majority of mothers or fathers who have lost sons or daughters in this war.
Her anti-semitic, impeach-the-president and similar whack job attitudes will mean the end of any hope the left may have had of changing any “average American” minds.
idgit:
I’m sure that your intellectual forebearers once said very similar things about Rosa parks.
Don, can you point to anything Rosa Parks said at the time that was not related to the issue at hand (riding where she wanted on the bus, desegregation in general)?
Ms. Sheehan has made some pretty wild charges, blaming Bush personally for her son’s death and bringing in the unrelated Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Ms. Parks did nothing of that kind that I can remember. She was quiet and dignified, which made her point with the force of a sledgehammer.
Of course, she had a point to make.
By the way, Don, the Democrats were the party of segregation. A Republican president enforced desegregation with federal forces, and more Republicans than Democrats voted for the Civil Rights Act. In 1964, the Democratic Party only allowed whites from Mississippi into their national convention.
Joe:
1) I’m not a Democrat. I have a spine instead.
2) You have to go back at least 40 years to find a non-racist GOP administration. What does that tell you?
You have to go back at least 40 years to find a non-racist GOP administration.
Nice assertion. Would you care to back that up with fact? Oh that’s right, most Republicans oppose racial preferences, ergo they are racist. Thanks for playing Don.
Homophobe charge for not accepting Don’s rantings coming in four…three…two…
heartbreak of psoriasis
Soon to be a Lifetime movie..
2) You have to go back at least 40 years to find a non-racist GOP administration. What does that tell you?
As another said already: care to back that up? Or is this just an assertion you take as fact to keep your world-view from collapsing?
Joe, you’re the one claiming that the Democrats are racist and the GOP is not. Back up your own pronouncements before you start making demands of others, fool.
Joe, you’re the one claiming that the Democrats are racist and the GOP is not. Back up your own pronouncements before you start making demands of others, fool.
My apologies. I simply assumed you knew history.
Senator Byrd, who continues to minimize his involvement in the noted civic organization called the KKK, is a Democrat.
All Southern governors during segregation were Democrats.
Democrats are loud in insisting on treating people different by race. Before 1970, this was called segregation. Now, they call it affirmative action. In their version of Newspeak, anyone who wants to treat people equally is “racist.”
Duh.
RE: Don Myers’ post (August 15, 2005 12:17 PM)
I’m sure that your intellectual forebearers once said very similar things about Rosa parks.
Ahh, yes. Very subtle perpetuation of a new meme. I think this one sits up there with Saint Cindy!
Cindy Sheehan:Civil Rights::Rosa Parks:Civil Rights
Except that Parks did not announce to the world her intentions, was arrested, could have been assaulted, and could have been killed for her civil disobedience. None of those things even remotely threaten Sheehan. In fact the target of her ire welcomes her free expression. Poor Parks… periodically getting dragged into debates by comparisons to others of much lesser import.
Please tell me that my reading between the lines is circumspect.
Actually Don, Joe said, “the Democrats WERE the party of segregation”. Past tense buddy, and in reference to your absolutely ludicrous, and non sequitor, claim that Republicans would have slammed Rosa Parks.
Don, Palestine and Israel are the same 10,000 square miles, and a reading of the Crawford Peace House site makes their views of Israel apparent, unless you are trying very hard not to see what they are saying, which appears to be your goal.
As for the company Cindy Sheehan keeps… well, I didn’t like what they had to say any better in the original German.
Oh, Don…you still haven’t offered any proof of your assertion that “You have to go back at least 40 years to find a non-racist GOP administration.” Come on, Don – put up or shut up.
No, no, no…you can’t change the subject. You have to answer the question.
And now back to your regularly scheduled liberal tirade…
Sheesh. Stick to the subject.
Ya gotta love this man’s, er, subtlety.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/08/15/bush.neighbor/index.html
Just wait until Cindy goes a little further off the deep end and even vermin like Don Meyers have to start distancing themselves from her. She’ll suddenly become a Rove plant to distract the media from the real outrage, the Plame outing.
Plame?….you don’t think….
Has anyone actually seen them together?
Not funny? Not sorry.
There was a line right before the last one that read: “Attention Libs: that was a JOKE.”
PIMF
Don,
Joe didn’t go back 40 yrs to find “a non racist GOP administration.” He went back 40 yrs BECAUSE YOU DID. You brought up Rosa Parks, he was just pointing out who were the real racists in her time.
Geeze.
Cindy Sheehan’s Connections and Disconnections:
Yes, Peter F – Texans sure have a great sense of humor! Noticed it yesterday at WND and linked it in the “David Duke Gets Behind Cindy Sheehan” thread. Dove hunting… what a play on words!
Today WND has linked to a copy of the Petition for Dissolution of Marriage filed by Patrick Sheehan on 8/12/05 in the Solano County Superior Court.
Cindy Sheehan’s other disturbing connections:
Lynne Stewart
As found by Solomonia at FrontPageMag which reports that Cindy Sheehan spoke at an SFSU event organized by The International Socialist Organization, an organization that advocates the violent overthrow of the U.S. government. The main speaker was Lynne Stewart, “convicted of conspiracy and for passing along fatwas… from Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman to his terrorist followers in Egypt’s Islamic Group. Rahman is the blind sheikh responsible for the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 that left six Americans dead and more than 1,000 people injured. “
“Cindy Sheehan said she considered Lynne Stewart her Atticus Finch, the lawyer who defended an innocent Black man accused of rape in the book and film ‘To Kill A Mockingbird.’“
“Sheehan continued, ‘9/11 was Pearl Harbor for the neo-conservatives’ agenda’ and declared the U.S. government a ‘morally repugnant system.’ Then she raged: ‘We have no Constitution. We’re the only country with no checks and balances. We want our country back if we have to impeach George Bush down to the person who picks up the dog sh-t in Washington! Let George Bush send his two little party animals to die in Iraq. It’s OK for Israel to have nuclear weapons but we are waging nuclear war in Iraq, we have contaminated the entire country. It’s not OK for Syria to be in Lebanon. Hypocrites! But Israel can occupy Palestine? Stop the slaughter!’“
****
Sheehan discredits herself with her own words, but the company she keeps puts her into perspective, not as a victim being used by the left, but herself using her son’s death for her own anti-America, pro-terrorist agenda.
Cindy Sheehan’s GSFP co-founder is Sue Niederer:
“Cindy and Pat Sheehan along with myself “Auntie”, Jane and Jim Bright, Celeste Zappala, Bill Mitchell, Lila Lipscomb and Sue Neiderer [sic, shd be spelled Niederer] have formed Gold Star Families for Peace….“
Remember Christmas 2004’s leftwing furor targetting Secy Rumsfeld for not personally “signing” letters to bereaved families?
Flashbacks to Wizbang archives on Sue Niederer:
12/24/04 – The Death of Reason – Niederer was one of two complaining about Rumsfeld.
Sept. 04 – Secret Service Reviews Comments By Dead Soldier’s Mom” (re Niederer arrested as a security threat after harassing First Lady Laura Bush during a NJ firehouse visit).
Another disturbing thing is Sheehan’s assertion that “9/11 was Pearl Harbor for the Neo-Cons”
Is she saying that everyone NOT a “neo-con” dismisses 9/11 as just a small civil crime…like a mugging? Or that we deserved it?
Or is she gone further into LaLaLeftist land that 9/11 was REALLY done by GW just as some claim FDR was behind Pearl Harbor to drag the USA into the “Jew’s war” in Europe??
Just a thought, as Cindy dishoners the good name of her hero son, could it be possible that her constant moonbat nuttery bugged her son to the point that joining the Marines was in some small way a rebellion against her wackiness?
Interesting, Mesablue. It reminds me of the movie “Flashback” starring Kiefer Sutherland and Dennis Hopper. Sutherland played a clean-cut FBI man escorting an old 60’s political activist hippy on a train trip to his trial. One of the ironies in the film was that the young FBI man himself was the child of hippies, who grew up on a commune. The children of the left (those who survived the attempted abortions) may very well, in real life, also be rebelling. At least they’re rebelling in the “right” direction, this time 🙂
