Arnold Schwarzenegger just delivered another state for Bush. I don’t know which state but Bush can count one more in his column due to a single speech. Maybe even two.

P.S. Look for John Edwards to drop that foolish “Two Americas” line.
But what the hell are the two girls doing OTHER than smashing the moment???
Well, it won’t be California. But every little bit helps.
Of course, as the supreme being, you meant Calleeforneeuh.
how is the speech supposed to deliver any states when the mainstream media won’t even show the convention?
Well it will probably surprise you Paul, but I thought he Rocked. Just blogged it.
I only caught part of the girls’ “speech”, but I don’t know that a line like “now that we’re out of college, we have to find SOMETHING to do” does much for their dad’s stake in the job market/unemployment numbers.
Who watches the mainstream media anymore?

Arnold’s speech was on ABC, CBS, and NBC, guys.
It probably helped Bush tremendously.
Other than the buzz kill that followed!
Arnold delivered an amazing speech that represents everything I believe in. I do agree that the twins speech was a bit out of place but it doesn’t really change anything. Arnold should run for president if it is ever possible!
Then you’d better get that Constitutional Amendment going, Bob.
I have to say, after night, a push for the amendment wouldn’t totally surprise me. Throw on a 20-year citizenship requirement or something.
Mainstream Media showed the convention from 10 pm on just so everyone could see the “Arnold’s” speech and man, did he deliver!!

I’m working on Caleefoornia.
No TV. Looking for web version of the speech. Please email me if you know where I can view it.
Arnold’s speech really moved me. I thought Rudy’s speech was really good, but Arnold’s just spoke to me in a way that Rudy’s didn’t. While I was watching it, I began thinking about why I was a Republican, and posted my thoughts on the difference between the two parties.
And while I thought Laura’s speech was pretty good in itself, she was following a really tough act (with some fluff in between).
You can watch the speech at teh -span web site:

What was the Silvester Stallone movie where Arnold was the President via a new amendment??? It sounded really hilarious in the plot line, as it was meant to, but not so much after last night!! He totally KICKED ASS last night!
Village idiot:
By way of osmosis, I think. Most politiically aware types are going to watch the convention’s major speeches on cable news or C-SPAN. Their favorable impressions are likely to carry more weight with those of their colleagues who DO vote, but are not as politically aware.

Yeah, Arnold telling us that people who are out of work and worried about their economic future are just a bunch of whiney little girls, is going to go over big in this swing state.
Don’t write off California. If it a mild landslide California probably wont be carried. However, if it is a huge landslide watch the late votes out West to fall for Bush. People don’t like to vote for a loser. My current guess is Bush should carry 36 states. However, momentum is growing and it may be closer to 45 by November 2nd.
I tried to sum up my problems with Arnold’s speech here. Bush has basically told California to go fsck itself, so he stands no chance here. Bush’s policies have also created a problem for Arnold. Driver’s licenses for illegal aliens wouldn’t be such a big issue if Bush would enforce our laws. But, not a peep about that at the convention, we have to remain “compassionate.”
Madfish – You’re thinking of “Demolition Man”.
Now if we get cracking on the amendment, we could see Arnie vs Hillary in 2008.
Hey Wacho, the laws in your state have to be enforced by your governor, not your president. Every state has different laws and CA has different laws from say NH even. It’s up to the state reps and the governor to enforce them, not the President; he didn’t make them – you guys did.

The driver’s licenses for illegal aliens bill, were it to be signed, would indeed be a California state law. However, I was referring to Bush’s unwillingness to enforce federal immigration law.
From this: Since 1998, the federal government has fined just four companies in San Diego County and none in Riverside County for hiring illegal immigrants… Federal records show that… in 2003, 15 companies in the United States were fined —- none of which were in California. And as of May, just one company —- in Maryland —- was fined this year… In Southern California, the numbers are even smaller. Thirteen companies received fines for violations of immigration laws in 2001 —- and only two since… not a single Riverside County company has been fined in the past decade. In San Diego County, just four companies have received fines since 1998…
To reiterate, the Border Patrol and other similar organizations that stop illegal crossers and go out and fine companies are federal agencies. California does not have a Border Patrol, etc.
