In news that any one of us could have called in from our couches, the Washington Times reports that worker productivity drops during the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, to the tune of $1.5 billion. Workplace expert (what the hell?) John Challenger advises that resistance is futile, and recommends that employers instead embrace this development by promoting illegal gambling (an office pool) and having a TV in the break room.

An office pool . . . there’s a novel idea.
