Glenn Reynolds still thinks talk of an Armstrong-Kos “pay-for-play scheme” sounds like politics as usual, but in light of the following reminds that trouble is often found in the coverup, not the crime.
Are Jerome Armstrong and Markos Moulitsas (of the famous Daily Kos) engaged in a pay-for-play scheme in which politicians who hire Armstrong as a consultant get the support of Kos? That’s the question that’s been bouncing around the blogosphere ever since The New York Times’s Chris Suellentrop broke the news last Friday about a 2000 run-in Armstrong had with the Securities and Exchange Commission over alleged stock touting. But Armstrong, Kos, and other big-time liberal bloggers have almost entirely ignored the issue, which is a bit surprising considering their tendency to rapidly respond to even the smallest criticism.
Why the strange silence in the face of such damning allegations? Well, I think we now know the answer. It’s a deliberate strategy orchestrated by Kos. TNR obtained a missive Kos sent earlier this week to “Townhouse,” a private email list comprising elite liberal bloggers, including Jane Hamsher, Matt Stoller, and Christy Hardin Smith. And what was Kos’s message to this group that secretly plots strategy in the digital equivalent of a smoke-filled backroom? Stay mum!Ann Althouse wonders who the elite liberal blogger was who leaked the memo. Also see James Joyner’s “Kosola Cover-up?” post.
Apparently “Mum’s the word” at Whizbang! regarding new reports of Marine gross misconduct in Iraq. You guys are all over Murtha when you find a leak that says there wasn’t a cover up, but are strangely silent as additional news showing the problem was even bigger than Murtha stated.
So is this another case where there’s is no comment because they investigation is still underway? CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED.
But wait, there’s a rumor of a scandal involving Kos, and once again Whizbang! is all over it. What about waiting until the investigation is over are all of the facts are known on this?
Pot, Kettle, Hypocrites.

Good grief, Lee, can’t you stay on topic for once? I doubt Whizbang will be silent for long. I usually just read your crap with amusement but I can’t let this go.
The quote from your comment above refutes the bulls**t that you continue to peddle. Repeat: CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED. They have not been convicted, or yet even tried. If they are convicted, they will be appropriately punished. If they are aquitted, I have no doubt that mental midgets such as you will continue to shout “conspiracy” and “coverup”. After all, they’re Marines, right? Baby Killers. They don’t deserve to breathe the same air as pure, brilliant people such as yourself.
If you are so damned upset that Whizbang didn’t post this immediately after announcement, then START YOUR OWN BLOG. Then you can spew all the crap and distortions you want. I’m sure the tens of readers that would read your garbage would appreciate it.
Keep making your stupid comments. We need to be reminded constantly of the views of the radical left.
Who, Kos? Screw em
I agree – all three of these comments should be deleted because they are off-topic.
I’m tired of thread hi-jackers.
Lee:
BLOOD FOR ODIN!!!!!
J.
Lee:
Have you ever been upset about the daily butchering and beheadings committed by the insurgents? We investigate and prosecute reports of misconduct by our military. Your heroes cheer on the daily slaughter commited by the enemy, much as you do, and idolize the murderers. The big difference is in numbers and in reaction. Their atrocites are committed daily and cheered. American atrocites are the exception, not the rule, and are prosecuted.
Back to the topic. It is quite interresting the leftist blogosphere coordinate message and even enforce silence when necessary. Perhaps they are competing to become the new Illumanati.
Lee, you heard that they have now established WMD–500 shells worth–in Iraq. So it turns out Bush didn’t lie after all.
You and your little friends need to apologize to Mr. Bush.
BTW:
Don’t be too upset with Lee. He is just following the orders he recieved at the secret e-mail discussion group for liberal trolls that accompanies the secret Townhouse liberal bloggers group.(Maybe someday you can make it into the A-list, Lee.)
Their instructions is to change the topic when any conservative bloggers bring up the “Kosola” issue.
Pimf
instructions are
“BLOOD FOR ODIN”…F**K Yea!!!
What is the famous “daily Kos”
I dunno Lee. How many of the lefty blogs are trumpeting the WMDs reported today?
I love a smarmy, smoke-filled room.
This is on topic, it’s all about spinning the spinners. I bet the DNC will put Kos on contract after you guys hep him out.
I have to run now, there’s a Viking at my door delivering a candygram.
Don’t try to run with your pants down after you answer the door, Lee! LOL
Don’t you guys know the lee lee has a new name–“pucker puss”. He kissed so many asses that he now has a permanent pucker of the mouth. lol
Wouldn’t it be sublime if the leading nasty asshole moonbat blogger turned out to just be running a scam on the left?
Of course Lee isn’t as upset at actions of the terrorists. It’s the same as his not getting upset about the crimes of Democrats. Everyone tends to take it a bit easy on their own side.
😉
Lee, you are a sad, sad individual.
Word has it that Kos as unsubscribed from Townhouse and created a new SeKrEt KaBaL called Stormdrain. Problem is that he can’t bring himself to tell anyone until he figures out who leaked the posting today. Don’t type without your foil hat, your keystokes “leak” and the evil Bushies can intercept them via brainwaves.
Back on topic… Mum’s no longer the word.
Glad you’re so easily amused.
oh by the way — “a false written report regarding the factors and circumstances related to Awad’s death” sure sounds like a cover-up to me.
You know what, Lee? People get charged with murder right here in the good old USA every day. Sad but true. To expect we could have so many people over there for so long and expect that none of them would ever commit a crime is probably setting those expectations too high. Yes, sadly, people do things like that. Look at New Orleans last weekend. Look at Milwaukee on Memorial Day weekend (28 shootings).
Our military is only a reflection of the population it draws from but I will tell you what … grab 300,000 people with an average age of 19 at random off our city streets and arm them with the firepower our soldiers have and you tell me who you would feel safer standing near.
Our troops are capable of committing a crime and if they have, then they should be given a trial and if found guilty should be punished. But your reaction itself goes to show that this kind of act is the exception rather than the norm. Part of the problem is that our mass media has been spring-loaded to yell loud whenever someone brings an accusation that it gives the false appearance that it is more common than it is.
Lee, you are making an ass out of yourself. Go roll another one and chill.
The charges leveled are not related to Haditha, and thus were not discussed by Murtha, so Lee doesn’t have a point. If anything, the charges prove the system works and disproves the liberal Murtha mantra that there are ‘coverups’.
I am amused how liberals become testy when we dare to discuss what we think is relevant. They are only happy when they control the agenda.
But addressing the ‘point’ of his post (to the extent that there is actually a cogent point in there) … hey, Lee … all of this discussion is the “investigation”. You and Markos want to shut it down. To say ‘wait for the investigation’ when there isn’t going to be one from your side is so painfully stupid and/or transparent that it is worthy of the political doublespeak that we come to expect from … your side. Maybe you can answer these questions, though:
(1) Had Kos ever talked about ‘Townhouse’ before to the nutroots (er, excuse me, netroots)? If not why not?
(2) Since Kos has spent the last two years as a scourge of all DLC centrists, can you possibly deny that there is something rotten in the state of Kosistan when he begins to shill for DLC centrist Warner after Warner hires Kos’ former partner and close friend Armstrong? Whether real money has passed hands (yet – ads will certainly be placed) isn’t it clear to even you that Kos’ influence is for sale?
If the answer to #1 is no then you’ve been played. If your answer to #2 is also no, then its clear you don’t care that you’ve been played or are so brainwashed that you need a cult de-programmer. Chump.
It’s clear that Lee is one of those guys that smears the military and would like to see us fail in Iraq (and democratic Iraq fall
Tryptich – good to hear from you again!
You’re absolutely right on all counts, and you pegged Lee perfectly.
Hey Trip – you forgot to use “cut and run” in your post. Don’t you guys get super-duper bonus points for its use this week?
Old pucker puss (use to be known as lee lee) seems to be branching off into “oval” mouth.
Hmmmm.
Can we at least give these Marines and corpsman the opportunity to defend themselves in a court of law Lee?
Or are you just going to “rush to judgement” and just declare them guilty because it serves your political needs?
Frankly this aspect of Democrats all over the blogs is one of the less appealing. It would be nice if you game our soldiers the benefit of the doubt.
You know. While you’re screaming that you support the troops.
Hmmm.
sigh. Preview is my friend.
game = gave
Hmmmm.
One Kos to rule them all,
One Kos to find them,
One Kos to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.
Rather appropriate really.
Poor Lee, no matter what ACE LLL shinola he spews forth he can not get people to look away from the train wreck that is the BDS addled ACE LLL Democratic nutroots meltdown.
We all knew this was going to happen. The base Kos/DU/ Democratic supporter are mentally unstable, six years of paranoid, schizoid behaviour has finally driven them over the edge. I got my popcorn and refreshing adult beverage of choice, gonna get comfy and watch the floor show on this one.
