The Real Danger for Obama

I am up late working on the job that is keeping me from having any time to blog, but I had Fox News on in the background and could not resist piping up with a thought. Are Hillary Clinton and John McCain the real dangers to Obama’s candidacy? After watching his speech tonight from Indiana, I have to wonder if the real danger for him might just be that people will get sick to death of his painfully long speeches between now and November.

Seriously, was that speech 2 hours long or did it just seem that way? The live audience seemed to like it, but it sounded like this to me “Blah, blah, blah, change, blah, blah, blah, promise, blah, blah, blah, some poor guy in Youngsville North Carolina doesn’t have insurance, blah, blah, blah.” Admittedly, those “blahs” are soaring and rythmic, but they are still just background noise to me. Nothing but sound and fury. Do Americans want another president who loves the sound of his own voice this much? I can understand choosing Obama’s long, but eloquent, speeches over Hillary’s drone, but I think he is going to have some trouble up against John McCain. McCain is not exactly electric, but he is inspiring and can give a moving and memorable speech in less than 2 hours.

(Note: I only picked up on the NC comment because I am in NC).
