Every now and then, after banning a particularly noxious troll, I find myself wondering what became of them. I hope that they’ve learned their lesson in civility, and proving to be valued members of some other online community. Or, they’re off being obnoxious on someone else’s site. Or they’ve fled to some site that is more in line with their ideology and maturity, and enjoying their new echo chamber.
But then I read this story, and wondered if I might in some way bear some responsibility…
