Deja vu all over again

I was thinking about covering the story of Lt. Ehren Watada, but I see Kim has already beaten me to it — and quite ably.

I’m glad Kim did that. I really didn’t want to discuss the matter, because I had a strange feeling that I had seen this particular movie beforeand I know how it ends.

We have a 100% volunteer military. Nobody’s been forced into the service in over 30 years. The time for second thoughts, conscientious objections, and hesitations is BEFORE you sign the papers.

But that doesn’t matter. As soon as the anti-war movement has no more use for Mr. Watada, he’ll be discarded like all the other useful idiots. Because it’s all about the CAUSE.
