“Henry, I’m not going to talk to you today, I’m not going to talk to you tomorrow, I’m never going to talk to you for the rest of my life.”
Barry Bonds banishing the San Francisco Chronicle Giants beat reporter Henry Schulman from a press gathering. Bonds was upset over the Chronicle breaking the story of his long-time girlfriend Kimberly Bell‘s testimony to a grand jury investigating his role in the BALCO case. Schulman was not the author of the story…
And then today, Bonds says that he may miss the first half of the season because he is tired and it’s the media’s fault. In fact, he’s so tired that he just mightm miss the whole season.
Let’s see…baseball has new steroid testing policies. Barry Bonds has long been accused of using steroids. Barry Bonds suddenly announces that he may not play this year. Could there be a connection?
Of course thee can. By not plaing, he can come back after a year and “be too old” to make a run at the home run record. He might hit a few, but everyone will just write it off as him being “old” instead him being off the juice.
As a Giants fan, I just don’t know what to think. It can be said that Barry Bonds is solely responsible for the construction of SBC Park. The stadium was specifically designed for his hitting style (balls into the Bay).
That said, I cannot believe what an Asshat this guy is being.
I always wondered if he would get up to one short of Aaron’s record and then hang it up right then and there, and tell the media to go screw.
Looks like he’s getting a bit of an early start on that approach.
Man I love it when Barry raises hell against the sports media. It’s hilarious, and I know if I was in his position, I’d talk smack too.
Barry does what he is paid to do, and that’s play baseball. Nobody says he has to be a Tom Brady type in order to do it, and there’s no written rule that says you have to be nice to the sports media either.
Guys like Barry Bonds are a breath of fresh air in the sports world, and I would have LOVED for those fools in Congress to have dragged his ass to Washington to be in those hearings. It would have been funny as hell.
whew, for a second there I thought you were talking to me, Kevin.
Before the Congressional hearings, I’d thought the insolent hypocrisy of Bonds, Giambi and Sosa (that Expertise celebrates and encourages), might be given a pass by most baseball fans. However, I’m confident that if it were not for the series of transparent deceptions of the Bush administration – from Armstrong Williams and Gannongate to Social Security and his budget cuts – McGwire’s convoluted testimony would’ve never been challenged or scrutinized by pragmatic baseball fans, seeing such unacceptable deceptions hitting too close to home.
Barry ‘Boo-fucking-hoo’ Bonds. He cheated and lied, got even richer doing it, got caught, and now he’s crying about how other people hurt him. Take a look in the mirror buddy. If you think other people are the cause of your problems then maybe that’s the real problem. He’s so worried about how ‘the media hurt his family’, I wonder how keeping the gold digging ho on the side helped it? It must be hard playing with that big chip on your shoulder.
Ex – Don’t ever use Tom Brady’s name and Barry Bonds in the same breath. It’s an insult in every way to Tom Brady.
Bonds is the worst thing that ever happened to baseball, a whiny, ungrateful bitch who has no appreciation for the game, its history or the fans. He’s not worthy of carrying Hank Aaron’s jock, much less breaking the biggest record in basebally by cheating.
He genuinely expects us to believe he didn’t know what he was using, or notice the effects thereof, on the sole basis that he gets nasty when people bring it up, like he imagines an honest person would. He must think we’re idiots, and I guess we are for making it possible for him to make that kind of living by being a lying, cheating, hateful fuck.
I hope he dies of whatever you get from juicing, soon. I can’t think of anyone more deserving.
