I have a rather remarkable record for predictions. Unfortunately, it’s remarkable for being wrong. Last year I predicted that Air America would fold on or around November 11, 2004, and they’re going strong. Last fall I predicted the Red Sox would lose the playoffs to the Yankees. Then I predicted they’d lose the World Series. Then, this morning, I predicted that I’d be blogging lightly for a couple days. I then promptly filed four more stories (not counting this one) and I already have three more planned for tomorrow already.
In that spirit, I’d like to officially go on record predicting that I’ll never meet a gorgeous red-headed woman who finds guys who look like Drew Carey or Dennis Franz sexy and loves to cook veal…
J.

Too bad you were wrong about Err America. I guess we should have known that there was a hidden niche market for unhinged moonbats.
Jay, not only did you have a good number of posts, they’ve also generated some of the highest number of commenters. Congratulations on even beating Paul out on # of commenters for the Italian communist story (although he’ll hate me for saying it).
You forgot to mention that the gorgeous red-headed woman must also stay silent about time that you spend online.
Thanks for the advice about the redhead, Henry, but I hope that rather than nagging me about my online time, she’ll offer “enticements” and “alternatives…”
Hell, it’s my fantasy. I’ll say and do whatever I want.
J.

Sure, why not? There’s a pretty huge market for crackpot rightwingers on the radio.
J.: I believe fantasy-wise, Silverbubble gave you the best of both worlds.
Sorry, that redhead is married, to me. And she even participates in some online forums (though she doesn’t get into the political ones.)
And for the record, I have a few pounds on Dennis Franz.
Oh, and while she could cook veal, I like ham instead.
Oh darn, my hair only has red highlights from the sun in the summer time. I have that kind of hair that is brownish/black. Oh well…hehehe.
Dont ask when Air America will go out of business, ask when it will make a profit.
Since that is the point of being in business, can we now ask what business Air America is in?

Better ask Amazon too.
Jay, do me a favor, will you? Predict in public that I’ll never win 40 trillion tax-free dollars in the world’s first and only 100% confidential ultra-super-lotto drawing.
Has Amazon turned a profit YET?
Of course, a lot of that is bookeeping. It could be that they’re making money, its just different bookeeping strategies can make it so you don’t pay any corporate income taxes at all. The movie industry is HUGE on that, they can easily show that each movie makes less money than it does, and it all depends on the skill of the accounting involved.
The movie industry is HUGE on that…
Just ask anybody who’s entitled to residuals. Movie studios don’t like paying out to “the talent” any more than they like paying out to Elmer Fed. The accountants just love to show a moneymaking film as barely breaking even when the part-owners of the net come looking for their cut. Which is why the big names insist on a cut of the gross.
OK, enough with the “Amazon/Movie industry profits and residuals” sidetracking. Can we refocus back on the “gorgeous red-head… [who] loves to cook veal” angle? This is supposed to be fantasy, not fallacy.
Hey, nothing draws gorgeous redheads (and blondes and brunettes) like a bank balance with lots of zeroes.
Well, I have the red hair, and I do think that the afore-mentioned men are sexy, but I don’t cook veal. I do make a pretty mean tenderloin, though.
RE: biker babe’s post (March 8, 2005 10:21 AM)
It’s all of their zeroes (aka the McGeHee factor), isn’t it?
Drew Carey is sexy because he’s funny, Dennis Franz is sexy in the same way that my husband is sexy.
Trust me. I’m a redhead. It’s how loooong the zeroes are. It’s why I married a tech guy 😉
