Hugh Hewitt reports this exchange between John Kerry and Tom Brokaw:
Brokaw: “Did you know that [Berger] was under investigation?”
Kerry: “I didn’t have a clue, not a clue.”
Brokaw: “He didn’t share that with you?
Kerry: “I didn’t have a clue.”Hasn’t Kerry served in Congress for decades? Watergate, Iran Contra, Monica Lewinsky – none of these ring a bell? They all picked up steam with a strong denial…
Kerry has just planted one end of survey stake in “no knowledge” territory. The first one to string the rope (metaphorically speaking) to the “full knowledge” territory wins.
Hat Tip: Glenn Reynolds
Update: Hewitt carries the Nixon analogy farther in his Weekly Standard column.
