Chuck Simmins points out work Steve Antler’s analysis of Census poverty data. It turns out that number of people living below the poverty line is historically low. You have to go back to the mid 1970’s to find lower poverty levels (among all races) than have been experienced over the last 4 years.
Good economic news? What a concept…
It must mean that the Bush Administration has manipulated the figures. Yeah, that’s the ticket…they cooked the books!
Just last night I spoke to…uh…Joe…uh, Shmuckatelli, who was a…umm…a leading advisor at the Department of Labor, but left when there was a disagreement over his…erm…jelly doughnuts.
And Joe says that he saw the Secretary of Labor in the kitchen, personally putting the books in a pot. Joe was just picking up his jelly doughnuts as he was being escorted out of the building, so he couldn’t stick around for the whole thing, but he personally saw the Secretary of Labor cooking the books with the poverty numbers!
