The Empire Establishment Strikes Back

The newly (and irregularly) re-elected “Chairman” of the Georgia Atlanta Republican Party has announced his intent to defy the Convention a mere two days after the end of said convention.

Georgia GOP chair says party won’t block Raffensperger bid for higher office
Josh McKoon joins the “Politically Georgia” podcast following the annual Georgia Republican convention.

Fresh off his reelection as Georgia GOP chair, Josh McKoon said he would not block Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger from the ballot if he chooses to run in 2026.

“I’m not going to put the Republican Party in the position of being sued over ballot access,” McKoon said on Tuesday’s edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s “Politically Georgia” podcast.

The Convention resolved that

“Be it further resolved that the Georgia Republican Party shall fully defend against any future litigation or legal action taken by Brad Raffensperger or others that in any way claims that the Georgia Republican Party is or can be required to allow Brad Raffensperger to run for public office as a Republican.”

This Republican holds that we need to heat some tar and find some feathers and a rail.
