They’d Have No Standards At All
The latest intersection of espionage, political fixing, and classification to prevent institutional embarassment (or worse) is fermenting in the DoJ section of the swamp. It seems there is a document or set of documents obtained (somehow) from “Russian sources” which has come to the attention of the IG, and lies at the root of the decision to redact Appendix One of the DoJ OIG’s recent report in its entirety. What could be so hot in comparison to the Steele / Clinton dossier you ask?
Here’s One Unverified File the Feds Won’t Leak: About Loretta Lynch
By Paul Sperry, Real Clear Investigations
The FBI had little problem leaking “unverified” dirt from Russian sources on Donald Trump and his campaign aides – and even basing FISA wiretaps on it. But according to the Justice Department’s inspector general, the bureau is refusing to allow even members of Congress with top security clearance to see intercepted material alleging political interference by President Obama’s attorney general, Loretta Lynch.
That material – which has been outlined in press reports – consists of unverified accounts intercepted from putative Russian sources in which the head of the Democratic National Committee allegedly implicates the Hillary Clinton campaign and Lynch in a secret deal to fix the Clinton email investigation.
“It is remarkable how this Justice Department is protecting the corruption of the Obama Justice Department,” said Tom Fitton, president of Washington-based watchdog Judicial Watch, which is suing for the material.
Given the nature of the redactions since un-redacted in the HPSCI’s Majority Report on FISA Abuse (none of which were other than institutionally embarrassing information) one would reasonably question the classification of this material as TS/SCI.
The scope of individuals implicated is such that one would reasonably believe that the swamp dwellers have ample reason to keep the material under lock and key.
Let’s review the players:
Then Chair of the Democratic National Committee Debbie Wasserman Shultz, who is currently fully engaged trying to keep a lid on the apparent penetration of senior Democratic members of the House of Representatives IT systems and information by her former IT manager (Awan).
Amanda Renteria, failed California Gubernatorial candidate, former Clinton Campaign Official, and former staffer to Senator Dianne Feinstein.
Loretta Lynch, former Attorney General.
Dianne Feinstein, Senator from California, former Chair/Ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, current Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
It is worth noting that Senator Grassley, the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee started the process to subpoena former Attorney General Lynch to testify before the committee only to have the effort blocked by Ranking Member Feinstein. As we discussed earlier, this is Feinstein playing defense, as she was when she unilaterally released Glen Simpson’s (of Fusion GPS) testimony.
