Memorial Day is about our honored fallen bretheran.
It is not a generic holiday about those who have served. It is dedicated to the memory of those who gave the last full measure of devotion to their Republic. It began as a custom of decorating the resting places and monuments of our most expensive (in terms of blood shed) war. I spent the day with the family of another Veteran over a pleasant dinner, at which we did indeed honor those fallen brothers, and thus did not post.
We all deserve some private time.
