The First Rule Of The Deep State Is To Deny It Exists

The left keeps coining, or appropriating, new phrases of derision which come back to bite them.

“Deep State”

By Ann Althouse, Althouse

I’m noticing:

“Trump just hired a deep-state conspiracy theorist as his lawyer. Here’s what Joe diGenova has said” (WaPo): “Genova… told Fox News Channel in January that the [Mueller] investigation is ‘a brazen plot to illegally exonerate Hillary Clinton and, if she didn’t win the election, to then frame Donald Trump with a falsely created crime. Make no mistake about it: A group of FBI and DOJ people were trying to frame Donald Trump of a falsely created crime.'” Much more at the link.

The Monmouth University Poll… finds a large bipartisan majority who feel that national policy is being manipulated or directed by a ‘Deep State’ of unelected government officials.… Few Americans (13%) are very familiar with the term ‘Deep State;’ another 24% are somewhat familiar, while 63% say they are not familiar with this term. However, when the term is described as a group of unelected government and military officials who secretly manipulate or direct national policy, nearly 3-in-4 (74%) say they believe this type of apparatus exists in Washington….”

As I’ve written before, I think referring to them as the “Deep State” fails to adequately define and describe what is going on.  More importantly, the dhimmocratic imperium can only be effective if it is invisible.  Having one of the house organs of the democratic party trying to discredit the very idea only serves to bring that which they would deny into focus.  We are currently in the midst of the investigation of the worst abuse of the powers of the Federal Government in the history of our Republic.

What The Chicago Way Did To The Federal Government

FISA Abuse

The former President had the full cooperation of the executive “leadership” of the FBI and DoJ.  The whole matter has only come to the public’s attention due to the Director of the NSA and the Inspector General of the FBI, and it is unlikely that we would have heard anything about or from either of them under President Hillary Clinton.  The Senior Executive Service management of the DoJ/FBI and CIA seem to have appointed themselves as the Prateorians of the Democratic Imperium.

The more the People learn of this, the less they will like it.

That is why President Trump has hired Joe diGenova now.  He will be spokesman out on TV and various other media explaining what is happening in terms of the indictments and their places in the larger machinations of the former President and his former subordinates.
