Intruders kicked in the front door of Samantha Bunce’s home in Charlotte, NC and were fought off in a resulting gun battle. Though the intruders opened fire on Bunce when they saw her (wounding her at least twice), she maintained her presence of mind and returned fire—driving the thugs out of her home.
Bunce, who is a combat medic with the National Guard, was feeding her four-month-old son when the intrusion occurred. Her husband “believes her training allowed her to stay mentally focused and calm during what was a fight for her life.”
Kudos to Samantha for her bravery. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family as she recovers from her injuries. Thankfully, she had the means to protect herself when violence came knocking.
