Today, under native rule by Robert Mugabe, they are a net importer of food and are on the verge of starving. Making the killer of Cecil dinner may save a life for two for a few days.
Walter Palmer, the Michigan dentist who killed Cecil, is currently in hiding somewhere in the US. Zimbabwe is requesting extradition and the US Fish and Wildlife Service is looking for him while evaluating Zimbabwe’s request.
Given public opinion right now, I expect Palmer to be on the first plane to Zimbabwe as soon as he shows his face.
Zimbabwe has started extradition proceedings and hopes the U.S. will cooperate, said Oppah Muchinguri, the African nation’s environment minister.
Walter Palmer “had a well-orchestrated agenda which would tarnish the image of Zimbabwe and further strain the relationship between Zimbabwe and the U.S.A.,” Muchinguri said.
“This must be condemned in the strongest possible terms by all genuine, animal-loving conservationists who believe in sustainable utilization of natural resources.”
I’m not sure who started to whip this story up but the US media certainly is fanning the flames. They want this to be a major story for as long as they can milk it. That way they don’t have to talk about the fact that Hillary lied about transmitting US classified information over her homebrew email server with no security. And then there’s Planned Murderhood…
I’ve given up hope that we’ll see any sense of priority on this story. One lion vs 2.7 million children butchered and sold off as parts by Planned Murderhood.
