There’s a witch hunt going on now for any vestige of the Confederacy or slave ownership. The Confederate battle flag has been banned by NASCAR and you can’t buy one at virtually any retailer. Statues are going to be removed or moved, buildings are going to be renamed, streets and Army bases are up for renaming.
So how about the Founders. How about Thomas Jefferson and George Washington?
Just wait until the media starts doing to research to find out which politicians families owned slaves. The shaming will begin. Demands for reparations from descendants of slave owners to be paid to descendants of their slaves. And if no slave descendants can be found, paid into a pool for all blacks.
The media might shy away from this one, mostly because of who the descendants of slave owners are. For the most part they’re going to be Democrats. Like Al Gore for one. Or even this one.
Specifically, [Barack] Obama’s great-great-great-great grandfather on his mother’s side, George Washington Overall, owned two slaves — a 15-year-old black girl and 25-year-old black man.
Obama’s great-great-great-great-great-grandmother, Mary Duvall, also owned two slaves — a 60-year-old black man and 58-year-old black woman.
Furthermore, the Duvalls, who lived in the 1800s, can be traced back to Mareen Duvall, a land owner in the 1600s who owned 18 slaves.
Being of kind, gentle, and forgiving heart, we’re willing to give the President a pass on this one. If he gives a pass to the Confederate battle flag.
