Destroying the nation one kid at a time, Part 6: Playing Outside

Think back to when you were a kid. I know when I was a kid I was told to “go outside and play” if I stayed around the house too long in the morning. When I was a kid there was no such thing as playing indoors if the sun was up. And as for supervision, well, other than all the people in town who watched out for kids, there wasn’t any.

Our culture has seen a radical change, and it’s not for the better. Kids are no longer allowed to “grow up”, they’re now escorted to their activities and they’re watched – or, apparently, supposed to be watched – pretty much every minute of the day.

Which brings us to today’s story about destroying childhood and eventually the nation.

A mother of two children, 6 and 9, went outside with the kids and was sitting in a chair in front of her home while they played on their scooters. One of her neighbors who saw the kids but didn’t see the mom called the cops. Apparently in La Porte, Texas kids can’t play in their neighborhood without parental supervision.

Cooper is now suing the La Porte Police Department, the officer who arrested her and the neighbor who made the call.

She said the ordeal has been stressful, time consuming and costly. Her family has already shelled out $7,000 in legal fees, she said.

Good for you mom. I really hope you collect a ton of money.
