OK, I’ve had it with Obama’s talk about asking the wealthy to pay more. Let’s just give the SCOAMF what he’s asking for. Here’s my proposal.
From now on, everyone with an annual income over one million dollars will have to pay more in taxes. More specifically, one dollar more. And they will be sent a form where we will ask them to pay more, along with a pre-addressed, postage-free envelope for a check. If they choose to give more, then all they have to do is write a check, put it in the envelope, and drop it in the mail. (Any guesses how much Warren Buffett will fork over?)
Now I just need a Congresscritter to introduce this bill into the House (where, by the Constitution, all revenue bills must start).
What President Obama doesn’t seem to understand is that when you “ask” someone for something, they are free to say no. He keeps saying “ask,” but what he means is “take.”
It’s not very often I get to lecture a Harvard Law School graduate (with honors!) and editor of the Harvard Law Review on grammar…
