A Lousy Stomping

Man, are a lot of people worked up over this video of a MoveOn.org supporter getting taken down by supporters of Rand Paul after a Senate debate race:

No, that ain’t pretty. But it isn’t as bad as it seems.

What appears to have happened is that a whackjob moveon.org member (but I repeat myself) charged Paul — a Senate candidate — as some kind of a stunt, to present him with some BS mocking “award” of some kind. Rushing a political candidate is never a good idea — just ask Robert Kennedy or George Wallace. Rand supporters tackled her and one of them moved in to help restrain her — in a rather brutal-looking fashion.

But no, he didn’t “head-stomp” her.

Watch the video carefully — as I have. That was no stomp. He didn’t drive down his foot with force — he placed it carefully. It wasn’t on her head or neck, but on her shoulder. And then he shoved down on her shoulder, pushing her face-down on the curb.

Then he took his foot off.

Personally, I don’t think he did anything wrong. I might have done the same thing. Regardless, he’s apologized stated that he overreacted and he’s no longer part of Paul’s campaign.

This shows that when it comes to thuggish behavior, the Republicans are seriously lame.

Remember Kenneth Gladney? He was at an anti-ObamaCare rally in St. Louis this year and had the temerity to challenge the positions of the SEIU, whose purple-clad thugs beat him down.

Remember Allee Bautsch? She and her boyfriend left a GOP fundraiser in New Orleans when they were attacked by a gang of thugs and put in the hospital.

Or remember this young journalist-wannabe who wanted to talk to Congressman Bob Etheridge (D-NC) and ended up manhandled and in a headlock.

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Republicans, work harder if you wanna equal the Democrats’ armies of thugs for this kind of targeted political violence.
