Dane-ish, Anyone?

Yesterday, Jay Tea wrote an interesting account about the strange activity surrounding a certain IP address.

Dane, named as one of the, shall we say ‘persons of interest’ in the article, quickly if weakly asserted his innocence. Upon reflection, I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt. It’s just coincidence, his name showing up with the same IP address as certain other characters. Nothing odd at all, really. I mean, it could just as easily happen that everyone might all decide to call themselves ‘Dane’ when commenting on an article.

So that’s what we’re gonna do.

The rules are simple. Anyone commenting on this thread will call themselves ‘Dane’, and tell all about Dane’s World. Discuss Dane’s politics, religious beliefs, education … Nothing profane or illegal, and everyone who posts a comment has to call themselves ‘Dane’. If another name is used I will go in and change it to ‘Dane’ – for clarity, of course. Nothing else gets changed except I might clean up some language. And if someone decides not to take the message I might get inventive if the poster gets defensive, if you know what I mean.

Of course, for all I know, the only comments will be from the real Dane, in the same way that he insists that it’s just a coincidence that he shares an IP address with a community of myopic leftist socialists. And writing style. And grammatical characteristics …

And I may just be getting started, because as anyone who’s been to a good bakery knows, there’s always a wide selection of Dane-ish to choose from.
