Weekend Caption Contest™ Winners

This week’s Weekend Caption Contest™ was another monster hit. The assignment this week was to caption the following picture:

President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, President Felipe Calderón of Mexico, and his wife, Mrs. Margarita Zavala, ride a trolley to a tent on the South Lawn of the White House, for the State Dinner reception, May 19, 2010. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

Here are the winning entries:

1) (Jeff Blogworthy) – Obama: “If my plan is successful, our people will soon be as poor as yours.

2) (fustian) – “As you can see in Michelle’s dress, they only support boobs on the left.

3) (Stephan) – “It was a pretty good speech, Felipe, and I know you got the standing ovation and all. But, trust me, you did leave out the part about it being Bush’s fault.

4) (guido) – “I’ve been heavily criticized and embarrassed for gifting the British PM a set of DVD’s he can’t watch, the Queen my book she doesn’t want to read and the Indian premier a side of beef he can’t eat. So, before I give you California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, el Presidente, I need your assurance that you can and will use them.

5) (P. Bunyan) – Calderón: “I think you’re ignoring the ‘800 pound gorilla in the room.
Obama: “I’m not ignoring my wife… I just don’t like to look at her.

6) (Clancy) – Obama: “I’ve upgraded my bus to a trolley. It’s much heavier, so be careful what you say.

The Readers Choice Award this week went to Jeff Blogworthy’s winning entry. In its place I offer one more excellent, possibly overlooked, caption:

(retired military) – Felipe- “I can see Arizona from my house

That’s all for this weekend. A new edition of the Wizbang Weekend Caption Contest™ will debut Friday morning.
