We Aren’t Fooled

Today’s Washington Post explains that Obama is sending 13,000 more troops to Afghanistan:

But in an unannounced move, the White House has also authorized — and the Pentagon is deploying — at least 13,000 troops beyond that number, according to defense officials.

The additional troops are primarily support forces, including engineers, medical personnel, intelligence experts and military police.

These “additional troops” are a red herring and a diversion. General McChrystal has asked for 40,000 combat troops.

13,000 does not equal 40,000.

Support troops do not equal combat troops.

We are not fooled.

President Obama, you either support the troops, or you support your left-wing base.
