A Charlotte County man arrested on burglary charges was rearrested shortly after being released from jail for allegedly breaking into a car in the county jail’s parking lot.

Bryan David Dudenhefer, 28, of 202 Seminole Blvd., was first arrested Wednesday night for allegedly breaking into the Army-Navy Fashions in Port Charlotte.

After he was released from jail early Thursday morning, a corrections officer saw him trying to open car doors in the parking lot.

Sheriff’s detectives who responded to the officer’s call found him in a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the parking lot.

He told deputies he was looking for a cell phone to call his wife. After he refused to get out of the truck, deputies physically removed Dudenhefer and arrested him a second time.

Breaking into cars in the courthouse parking lot is not a good idea if you wish to maintain your freedom. Bryan David Dudenhefer is today’s Knucklehead of the Day.
