The lie that Sarah Palin has less experience than Barack Obama is so easy to refute that Newt Gingrich did it in one 30 second interview on the floor of the Republican Convention.
As I pointed out yesterday, as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin managed an $11 billion budget and 15,000 state employees. What has Barack Obama done that compares? Oh, right, he’s managing his own campaign. Take a look at this joke of an argument:
Well, you know, my understanding is that, uh, Governor Palin’s town of Wasilly [sic] has, uh, 50 employees, uh, uh, we’ve got 2500, uh, in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. Uh, uh, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month. Uh, so I think that, uh, our ability to manage large systems, uh, and to, uh, execute, uh, I think has been made clear over the last couple of years. Uh, and certainly, in terms of, uh, the legislation that I’ve passed just dealing with this issue post-Katrina, uh, of how we handle emergency management. The fact that, uh, many of my recommendations were adopted and are being put in place, uh, as we speak indicates to extent to which we can provide the kinds of support and good service that the American people expect.
So running for president is experience that qualifies him to be president? Ha ha ha ha!! Also, note how he doesn’t even acknowledge Governor Sarah Palin’s experience as the chief executive of the state of Alaska. He has to deliberately steer clear of it because he knows he can’t compete with her on that level, so all he can do is run against her experience as mayor of Wasilla and hope no one will call him on it. Sadly, the Obamedia are more than happy to oblige him.
Lorie adds: Obama asked for it. He’s getting it. The McCain campaign will be releasing an ad comparing Sarah Palin’s experience to Barack Obama’s.
