Gov. Mike Easley will endorse Hillary Clinton for president, The Associated Press has learned.
Easley was expected to announce the endorsement Tuesday morning in Raleigh, the state capital, one week before North Carolina’s primary on May 6, according to persons close to the governor and to Clinton.
Um, wasn’t the media screaming at us only two weeks ago there was no possibility Clinton could win the nomination and that she immediately needed to withdraw??? What gives?
Oh, wright, never mind.

In any event, the closest Southern state to North Carolina, demographically and politically, is its neighboring state of Tennessee. Clinton won Tennessee.
Virginia is not apropos; it has a much more affluent and much younger populace. South Carolina is not germane; it has a much higher percentage of blacks and is more racially divided too.
So, does Clinton have a shot of winning North Carolina or at the minimum keeping the margin very close? Yep. You can bet your Ayers she does.
