KASHIWA, Chiba — A professional bicycle racer has been arrested for breaking into a high school here in an attempt to molest members of the school’s volleyball club who were staying there for a training camp, police said.
Tomoyuki Mitsui, 33, from Daisen, Akita Prefecture, stands accused of trespassing. He admitted to the allegations during questioning.
“I sneaked into the school in order to molest girls,” Mitsui was quoted as telling investigators.
At around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Mitsui sneaked into one of the buildings of Kashiwa Municipal High School, where its female volleyball club members were sleeping, through an unlocked second-floor window, local police said.
One of the members noticed Mitsui, and alerted the club’s coach by sending an e-mail to his mobile phone. Four teachers overpowered Mitsui.
