Hillary Clinton had reasserted her experience in recent days by mocking Barack Obama’s naive approach to foreign policy. When Benazir Bhutto was murdered in Pakistan, she was able to note she had personally met the former Prime Minister, underscoring the argument that we need “adults in charge” in a dangerous world.
Then she goes out and blows it completely with an idiotic and destructive comment like this, via Breitbart.com:
“I’m calling for a full, independent, international investigation,” Clinton said in an interview with CNN.
“I think it’s critically important that we get answers and really those are due first and foremost to the people of Pakistan,” Clinton said.
The former first lady suggested the probe could be along the lines of the international investigation that followed the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri in 2005.
“I don’t think the Pakistani government at this time under President (Pervez) Musharraf has any credibility at all. They have disbanded an independent judiciary, they oppressed a free press.”
The rest is at the link above. Such a ridiculous statement insults a friendly, sovereign government and fuels the fires of unrest in that volatile country. Hillary is giving aid and comfort to the terrorists by feeding the conspiracy fever which runs high in the Muslim world without much help from abroad. She is destabilizing a government which, despite tactics which we abhor, is the best chance to keep Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal out of the hands of the radicals.
Such outrageous remarks should never be spoken by a United States Senator, much less by a major party Presidential candidate. She is unfit to serve in the office she now holds, and certainly unqualified for promotion.
