My Sickness Survey

I have been out of things for a few days, fighting a cold and pretty much losing. Well, at least I think it’s a cold. Headache and body aches, lots of coughing and a lasting but mild fever. Food tastes like crap, which also describes my appearance, what with coughing up phlegm and picking out eye boogers. Nasty stuff.

I’ve had this kind of thing before, and after a lot of fluids and rest it always goes away, so I try not to make a big deal about it. The funny thing is, this kind of cold can linger around for a couple weeks and generally lowers my IQ to the level of a Ron Paul supporter, and makes me about as appealing in person as Rosie O’Donnell. Not that I want something more serious, but at least your garden variety virus has the good grace to come in, whack you for a day or two, then go off to make someone else miserable.

So my question for you all today, is whether you have to go through these kinds of colds, and if so, whether you feel about them the way I do. And what, if anything, makes you feel human again while you are going through this mess?
