This week’s Weekend Caption Contest™ was another monster hit, with over 175 entries. An interesting tidbit about this week’s picture is that it really wasn’t the one I wanted to use. The picture I wanted was one that ran on the front page of The Washington Times that shows Gore and Tipper laughing during his testimony. If someone can find that and e-mail it (or a link) to me we’ll run another Gore contest with it. Anyway, on to the winners… The Goracle has so much history, which a read through the entries is sure to remind you of if you’ve forgotten, all I could do is go with what made me laugh, and in the case of the winning entry shoot soda out of my mouth… The assignment this week was to caption the following picture:
Here are the winning entries:
1) (Stephen Macklin) – “I think I just carbon offset in my pants.“
2) (Harvey) – “An awkward expression came over Mr. Gore’s face as he realized he had mistakenly shipped his electric bill instead of the petitions.“
3) (AkBigBoy) – “Carbon offsets in the brown box, Lunch in the white box – got it Mr. Gore.“
Honorable Mention
4) (Anachronda) – “No, no, I meant cardboard neutral.“
5) (Serenity) – “See? I’m a funny guy after all! I just convinced 500,000 tree huggers to fight Mother Nature.“
6) (Baron Von Ottomatic) – “Gore got so huge he found himself orbited by smaller sycophants.“
The Truth In Advertising Award goes to:
(Gayle Miller) – “The most boring man in the world accompanied by his vapid blond wife attempts once again to certify unreality!”
Until next Friday…
