My apologies for what I am about to say….
My time here has been short-lived (about a week i think). But this is my last post for the following reason:
The Terrorism war (most of it in Iraq and not here thank goodness) is no joke to me. For myself and the other wise individuals here such as USMC Pilot, Scrapiron, LoveAmerica, Paul, nehemiah (sorry for leaving so many other nice people out) etc., it is a serious matter.
To put politics above our country as liberals have done lately against the US is treasonous – aiding and abetting terrorists as they watch our actions and listen to us closely (“we can’t win this war” and “Bush lied”) which only motivates them like a spoiled child (I had 4 children, I know – but all turned out very well thank you as a result of corrective discipline).
When I was much younger I owned a small restaurant. I refused to sell cigarettes and alcohol. Cigarettes because I loved my customers more than the few dollars I would make and alcohol because I didn’t want to be associated [directly or indirectly] to a drunk driving accident (in Wisconsin there are many drunk driving accidents killing innocent people to a greater number of men killed fighting terrorism). It seemed everyone told me, “If you don’t sell cigarettes to them, someone else will” and “They’ll just get it somewhere else”…. But to me, my decision was based on truth, facts, and principle, NOT rationalizations or money. I feel good with my decision and I KNOW that NOT ONCE, did I ever cause an innocent family to die from a drunk driver and that NONE of my customers got lung disease from anything I did for those 12 years. Not one. Yet, I became very financially wealthy because of my LOVE (I know – corny coming from a guy huh?) for others and by helping them (not by trying to get as much money out of them as I could).
I believe that America has lost it’s ability to be true to itself, it’s pride and it’s humility, it’s truth and it’s history. People don’t even remember that we are guaranteed a Republic – NOT a democracy. That saddens me. Today, we are all about MONEY. The TV shows are “I want to be a millionaire” and “greed” and people want to “get rich quick” and win the big lotto. Well, I NEVER ONCE bought a lottory ticket OR gambled and while other might have much more than me, I am content. CONTENTMENT is the difference between happiness and despair – love and hate.
I want to thank Jay, Lorie, Paul, Kim and the rest of you good people for all your hard work on “Wizbang” and I apologize as I know some of my posts were sometimes mean-spirited. My only defense for any mean-spirited post is that I LOVE AMERICA so much and I NEVER WANT TO SEE OUR SERVICEMEN DIE IN VAIN AGAIN AS WE DID IN VIETNAM (the first war America ever lost) – CUT, RUN, AND LOSE. Those 58,239 KIA – as it turned out, died for nothing (this does not include the millions of others including innocent civilians). The communists (including Hanoi Jane and Kut-and-run Kerry) for their spread of communism AND America (for quitting) AND the rest of the world (for not doing enough) are all at fault for the deaths. The fight against terrorists – if lost – will be the death of America, the death of the world, and death to millions of innocent women and children. That shall not happen.
I wish ALL OF YOU the best (yes, even you Muirgeo, Lee, Barney, Hugh, nogo). Was fun for the time….
May God continue to bless America – and EVERY single innocent man, woman, and child our military saves (inside and outside our country)…. I support our troops like no other. Our future is something Americans must preserve – not necessarily for us, but for the protection of innocence and those that understand and fight for that innocence….

Very similar to the lie about Al Gore claiming to “invent the internet.” But get the message out – it worked for Gore, even though it was dishonest. (“Jews in Iran wear badges!” and countless other stories she has written – 100% bs)

OMG, here we liberals are, cruising to an easy victory in recapturing both Houses, when John Kerry attempts a joke about Bush’s stupidity. Unfortunately his own complete and total lack of intelligence negated his ability to tell the joke properly, and next thing you know the whole country’s pissed off. That’s just great. What is it with this guy, can’t anybody in our party make him shut up until after the elections?
Look, we know John is an all-American hero for the part he played in turning public opinion against the Vietnam war in the 70s. We appreciate the fact that he’s constantly brought to light the evil deeds of our military, and campaigned for pulling out of this war after he mistakenly voted us into it. He is obviously a man of integrity and honor, but every time he opens his mouth in the last couple of years, the conservatives have had a field day and the Democrats lose votes. Please, somebody make him be quiet until we get some people into office.
Everything had been going so well: Many of our candidates have been talking about “faith” and “values,” words that really juice the hicks in middle America and NASCAR country. Of course all our candidates have been hammering Chimpy McHitler on the Iraq war, and just like in the 70s are starting to build a general feeling of hopelessness and despair in the American public that we can’t win. Another winning strategy has been to point out how bad our economy is. As strange as it sounds, this has actually been working pretty good! It’s kind of like saying, “It stinks in here” – even if it doesn’t, half the people think they smell something. Fortunately, many of our supporters aren’t exceptionally bright, so when we tell them the economy stinks, they smell it 🙂
The Democratic National Committee correctly identified that the sound of Nancy Pelosi’s voice made people want to slit their wrists, so they told her to be quiet for the last several weeks leading up to the election, and she has. The same with Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, Charlie Rangel, Barbara Boxer, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Al Gore, and for the most part, they’ve clammed up. I understand the DNC even insisted that Ted Kennedy not drive anyone any place until after the polls close. But what about John Kerry? Is it too much to ask that the official boat anchor of the DNC zip his pie-hole for ONE FREAKING WEEK? If something like this happened in the GOP, Karl Rove himself would neuter the offender with a pair of nail clippers.

Here’s a question – When Saddam Hussein is convicted on November 5 (the fact that this verdict in an Iraqi court has been purposely timed to be “decided” two days before the US midterm elections is a pure coincidence and anyone who says otherwise is a liberal islamofascist terrorist-loving troop hater and everyone knows that Iraq is now a sovereign country with an independent judiciary) how will Wizbang respond?
No, I’m not asking whether or not it’s a good thing to convict a mass murderer – the vast majority of people around the world agree with that. Review your list and realize that IN EACH CASE, “the Right” insists on finding out WHICH soldiers were involved and…
(a) punishing them if a crime was committed
(b) reviewing their actions to ensure what happened doesn’t happen again (the Pat Tillman friendly fire incidient, for example)
(c) exonerating them if they were falsely accused (your Guantonemo lie, for example)
The LEFT, on the other hand, brands ALL SOLDIERS with the same Ghengis Khan brush. Likening them to Nazis, Pol Pot drones, or Gulag killers. (or too stooopid to know WHAT they’re doing)

I think the Iraqi statement actually came from the government, not the parliament and it referred to security timetables set by the US, not judicial timetables.
But, let’s stick with your parliament story. Here’s how independent the Iraqi parliament is in terms of real power, rather than empty statements. Article 16 of the elected parliament’s first draft constitution stated:
1. It is forbidden for Iraq to be used as a base or corridor for foreign troops.
2. It is forbidden to have foreign military bases in Iraq.
3. The National Assembly can, when necessary, and with a majority of two thirds of its members, allow what is mentioned in 1 and 2 of this article.
After a little “discussion” with US official, that article disappeared.
And here’s a fine example of Iraqi judicial independence – in October, the Central Criminal Court was about to dismiss charges against US citizen Mohammad Munaf, when two US officials called the judge outside. Fifteen minutes later, the judge returned and sentenced Munaf to death.
But you stick with your story: Iraq’s parliament and judiciary are completely independent…and even if they’re not and the biggest verdict of the decade is timed to influence your elections — that doesn’t matter at all. I’m sure you felt exactly the same about the page-boy scandal.

Not to be flip or dismissive or to cheapen Tillman’s selfless contribution to our country, but friendly fire accidents happen all the time in war. It was an accident, not a premeditated killing. Learn the damn difference.
What about the tens of thousands of other soldiers who don’t make the headlines, Robert? Who’s more reprensative of our military? Them or a select few? Even a braindead monkey could answer that question.
