The latest from a tolerant, open minded liberal:

BLITZER: I have been covering the Cheneys for many years, including on a day-to-day basis when he was the defense secretary during the first Gulf War and I was CNN’s Pentagon correspondent . . . I was surprised when she came out swinging on Friday, surprised . . . at her sniping at my patriotism.
Wolf Blitzer
CNN Late Edition
October 29, 2006Translation: Oh Lawdy! Massa’s wife so mad she even beatin’ on us house slaves now. What dis ol’ world comin’ to?
You’re probably wondering what this guy was thinking writing something like this. Well, as far as those on the left are concerned, they are so morally superior to conservatives that it’s ok if they post it. It’s only racist if a conservative does.
Hypocrisy rears its ugly head.
Hat tip: Blue Crab Boulevard
Update: John Hawkins walks us down memory lane of liberal racism:
Liberals love to accuse conservatives of racism, but as a general rule, liberals tend to be some of the most racially insensitive people you’ll ever come across. They’ve thrown Oreos at Michael Steele, photoshopped Joe Lieberman in blackface, called black Republicans Uncle Toms and House Slaves, and they called Marvin Stewart, a black member of the Minutemen, a n*gger at Columbia University.
From Jane Hamsher:

From Steve Gilliard:

Update II: Michelle Malkin hits the mark:
They imagine racism where there is none, and then think nothing of employing blatant racist imagery to attack those who aren’t liberal enough for them.
A new low for Wizbang, but I suspect the GOP desperation is far from over, and we’ll be seeing worse than this in the next few days leading up to the election.
Does one dare ask what the Blitzer/Cheney affair has to do with racism?
Or is this just a lame excuse to court the white honky southern redneck bigot vote with a flashy graphic that’ll catch their racist eye?
SO why continue to troll here if this is a new low?
Whatsa matter? No one else in your life pays any attention to you?
The conservative right wing now is a one issue group.
“The dems are hypocrites.”
Gay bashing, race baiting, fear mongering no longer work.
Good luck.
I read dumb people
Would someone please clue me in on Lee’s twisted logic? How is pointing out the use of blackface by another blogger a new low for… this one?
It’s bizarre as well as sad and racist. I mean, why go to all the trouble to dis Blitzer like that?
Does one dare ask what the Blitzer/Cheney affair has to do with racism?
Indeed, one should ask the question. But, you’d have to ask it at the Whisky Bar (an open and tolerant liberal blog), since the question would have folks scratching their heads around here, because (and here’s a flash) it has nothing to do with racism. And even if it did, the accompanying graphic is inappropriate. That is the point, in case your single-track mind missed it.
Or is this just a lame excuse to court the white honky southern redneck bigot vote with a flashy graphic that’ll catch their racist eye?
Wow, Lee. There may be hope for you yet. You are asking the right questions, just in the wrong place.
Now, here’s a quarter. You run along and ask your tough questions to those big boys down at the Whisky Bar.
Does one dare ask what the Blitzer/Cheney affair has to do with racism?
Indeed, why would a LIBERAL post by a LIBERAL blogger on a LIBERAL blog ever post ever try to connect the two. But apparently they did. The poster’s logic? Blitzer is a–sorry, kids–house n****er for Republicans. And that doesn’t make dick for sense, let alone have a thing to do with the Cheney/Blitzer fracas.
It actually hurts my brain to try and comprehend this person’s “logicical” leap. Or swan dive off the deep end.
“The dems are hypocrites.”
Yep. And that shoe sure ’nuff fits, don’t it? Oh my, my, it sure ’nuff does.
ask your tough questions to those big boys down at the Whisky Bar.
And if you do this, Lee, you will quickly learn the openness and tolerance level of the boys down at the Wisky Bar. I would also venture to guess that you’d be the only liberal who has the balls to do so.
I get it. You’re much too busy here.
What’s funny is someone like Lee claiming to be morally superior to anyone.
Listkeeper is my new pet – here boy! Gooood dog!
One liberal blogger jackass and “the left” is labeled as hypocrites. Man, you guys are really reaching for it these days.
Slow news day? – or is it that all the news is just plain bad news for Republicans? Maybe another story from Australia will distract Republicans form the awful news here at home for conservatives.
Or perhaps another cartoon or stick figure? Yawn…
Would someone please clue me in on Lee’s twisted logic?
Lee only thinks of one thing here at Wizbang. His single purpose is to discredit everything that he sees, in spite of the logical pretzles it takes to accomplish the goal. Wizbang and its ilk are the enemy to be vanquished. This time, Lee signaled his motives by blindly rushing to weigh in on something he simply didn’t understand. Now he’s in a dilemma, since he voiced an opinion on something for which he thought Wizbang was responsible. This will be interesting.
Do any of you right wing loons ever discuss anything germane to the issues facing our country today? If so, please point out where.
Now, here’s a quarter. You run along and ask your tough questions to those big boys down at the Whisky(sic) Bar.
And if you do this, Lee, you will quickly learn the openness and tolerance level of the boys down at the Wisky(sic) Bar.
Confusing. Who are “the boys” down at Whiskey Bar? As far as I know that blog is run by one person, and there is no comment submission. Though Kim predictably presents his post as the opinion of “the left”.
Oh, and why would one need a quarter to send an email?
Slow news day?
Geez, okay Lee. Ya got us. So, indulge me. Please, take a moment out of your unemployed, but otherwise fruitful, life and explain to us why you don’t find this to be noteworthy? Let me boil it down for you: A decidedly liberal blog obviously steamed enough over the spanking that was delivered Blitzer that it risks the use of an ugly racial caricature. But, the bizarre thing is that the group that is supposed to be the champion for the cause of the black man doesn’t see (or refuses to see) the damage done. Why is that? And why isn’t that worthy of intense discussion? Don’t you care about the black man, Lee? Or could it be that the true racists are being discovered?
Classic pic. They shoulda made him look more wesley snipes black as opposed to george hamilton mellatta. Just my 2 cents.
Big Bad Wolf Blitzer being as irresponsible as he always has been
Hugh we’d love to discuss the good economy, but you don’t seem to want to. Wonder why
“explain to us why you don’t find this to be noteworthy?
It’s one schmuck who posted a really stupid blog post.
What’s newsworthy is that conservative blogs can’t fins anything else other than this kind of crap to write about.
Here’s Google’s headlines:
– Analysis: GOP Likely to Lose House Seats
– Rep. Duncan Hunter says will run for president
– Significant Challenges’ Face US in Creating Iraqi Forces
– Gay Marriage Through a Black-White Prism
– Hevesi Challenger Seizes On Scandal
– St. Louis Named Most Dangerous US City
All of which is bad news for conservatives. So the angry right, frustrated by the fact that four weeks after the Foley scandal hit they STILL can’t get their message out, now is forced to resort to lynch mobs roaming the internet looking for the odd liberal to thrash — in between celebrity bashing and news items from Australia.
It’s pathetic.
Oh, and why would one need a quarter to send an email?
Oh dear. Your dialectic acumen is so finely honed. You libs do have a way of equivocating.
BTW, it is confusing to operate outside the literal, isn’t it? Keep your chin up, kiddo. You’ll get the hang of it.
Read between the lines and you can tell our lefty trolls are indeed pretty embarrassed at this one.
What is funny about Lee’s responses is that when he thought the graphic a right-wing creation he seizes it, the creation of one blogger, to brand the GOP as desperate and appealing to racists. When he realized it is a left-wing creation he says the reverse, that you’re taking “one liberal blogger jackass and “the left” is labeled as hypocrites.” Well, is that any different from what he did in his first post?
Jo:
Lol I gave you a lengthy comment about the economy yesterday after you challenged me to do so. You made some stupid smarmy response ducking the issue of course.
Now you make another stupid smarmy response and have nothing of any value to say. That is why I say the right has nothing to do but whine about hypocrisy”
Blitzer is pathetic. Just as in the interview with Mrs. Cheney.
One of the weakest in TV (but that ain’t saying much–he has alot of company on CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS).
Hugh,
You be sure and let us all know when you have something of value to say.
I fear that will be a cold day in hell, though.
Hugh I said let’s discuss the good economy, not the imaginary bad one you want to pretend exists.
The good economy. The one you cannot refute.
Let’s discuss that one.
(crickets)
Here’s Google’s headlines:
Geez. Do all of you libs have ADD? Okay, Lee, While you’re googling, why don’t you search for “condoleezza rice” and tell me what you find. Maybe you can explain the predominance of left-leaning blogs and radio talk shows engaging in the portrayal racial sterotypes. You’ll find:
Madison, WI talk radio host John “Sly” Sylvester on “Progressive Talk 1670 AM” who referred to Condoleezza Rice as “Aunt Jemimah” and Colin Powell as “Uncle Tom”.
king-robert-the-bruce.blogspot.com who refers to the Secretary as “US Secretary of State Aunt Jemimah Condoleezza Rice”.
Garry Trudeau drew the President calling Dr. Rice “Brown Sugar” in his sadly unfunny comic strip, “Doonesbury”
Thomas Oliphant draws Miss Rice as a parrot with oversized lips.
Ted Rall, formerly syndicated by the WaPo, lampoons Miss Rice boasting about her role as “Bush’s Beard” and his “House N*****”. Another cartoon demands she “hand over her hair straightener” and has her going to an “inner-city racial re-education camp”.
Mr. Danziger, still syndicated by the New York Times, depicts Dr. Rice as a barefoot woman in a rocking chair with a baby bottle. One Danziger cartoon shows her as the slave Prissy from “Gone With The Wind.”
Really? It’s only one schmuck who posted a really stupid blog post? Come on Lee. Will you at least try to get a clue? But, then what should we expect with progressives? One would expect the NAACP to rejoice in the advancement of a woman of color to two of the highest posts in the land, but they were strangely silent on the historic occasion when Rice was nominated to become the first black, female Secretary of State. And then there’s The National Organization of Women, who have long purported to stand against the trivialization and objectification of women as sex objects, apparently have no problem when Gary Trudeau depicts Dr. Rice as “Brown Sugar”. Hey, check it out, that’s a two-for-one put-down. She was slammed for both her race and gender.
So, now we come back to Blitzer in blackface, and you have the temerity of ripping us for pointing it out. And then, as if to add insult to injury, you question our intelligence by suggesting this is an isolated incident.
Now, Lee. STFU.
Um, wasn’t it Lee that wanted to use Frank J’s stick figure cartoon as an indictment of all conservatives, just like… the other day.
Do any of you right wing loons ever discuss anything germane to the issues facing our country today? If so, please point out where.

Yeah, lets talk about what great ideas Dems have brought forth in the last several years, or what ideas they have ‘should’ they win the house n senate.
GOP brought forth the contract w/ america in 94, surely since you libs attempt to claim moral and intellectual superiority, can you come up with 15 solid ideas??
ALso, does anyone really think a conservative would be allwoed to troll as long on a libnut site as these libs here? We all see how the left LOVES freedom of expression, as long as they agree with you….
Once again: Any worker that says they didn’t get a tax cut in the past 6 years is a liar:
Now you can add: Anyone (disregarding anyone that was recently laid off, that happens no matter the economy) that ‘works’ that says they aren’t better off now than they were in 2001 is a liar.
With few exceptions, everyone’s life style has been upgraded by leaps and bounds.
Liberals love to accuse conservatives of racism, but as a general rule, liberals tend to be some of the most racially insensitive people you’ll ever come across.
When Green Party candidate Jonathan Carter ran for the Maine governor’s office in 2002, he ran an ad in which an opponent was characterized as a Sicilian Mafioso, ala “The Sopranos.” That opponent was Democrat John Baldacci.
Yes, indeed.

Racism is where you find it. Yes, indeed.
Seems to be an echo in here.
Racism is where you find it. Yes, indeed.
Wow. Like “wherever you go, there you are”? You’re not presently engaged in an activity that causes you to crave oreos and taco dip, are you?

And I call her “the bad perm lady”. What’s your point? Here is a news flash for you! Just because I happen to be black and disagree with your frat boy President and the direction he is taking this coutnry, does not mean that I have to decry every liberal for their poor taste, or racial attitudes. Most people of color understand that racist come in all political persuasions, and we could care less if someone harbors racist attitudes.-at least I don’t- or not. As long as they don’t hinder our right to make a living or restrict our guaranteed freedoms. They can do or say whatever the hell they want.
The problem I have with republican racist, is that they are the party in power, and their insensitive policies might affect poor black people in a personal way. People who can’t stand up for themselves, because they have no wealth or power. These are usually the first ones discarded by repubs, and used to demagogue their base. -And please don’t tell me about your enlightended red state base. I was in Louisiana when David Duke was in his prime- So what do we get? We get the repub hypocrisy, your outrage more for political reasons than moral ones.
So the next time you think you see racism from libs, save your breath and your spurious vexation, because when it comes from you folks; no one believes it.
Lee:
I’m a white southern redneck, and if you call me a honky bigot again I’m going to reach down your throat and pull your heart out!
field negro:
No one could possibly have proven Kim’s post better than your last comment. You are so biased that what ever libs say is harmless, but anything from a conservative is destructive. You my friend are dangerous, mostly to yourself.
Brilliant analysis if I take you at your word that you’re not being a racist like say, some “left wing” radical like me.
Wolf Blitzer is – so to speak – a whore, an opportunist perhaps even … a slave. Right wing trash at any rate.
So if your racist communiqué intended to place this redneck in a comic light that would communicate his essentially parasitic nature then I say, Brilliant!
But then, of course, you continued. I don’t know …. .
I guess if I go by my aesthetic response, it didn’t reach me. I didn’t find it funny. Still, in some vulgar way, if we make the focus Blitzer, for all to see, it nails him to the truth of where he sits on the food chain of power.
Face it Lee, you and your party are the biggest bunch of racist hacks around. You do not wish to help out the black people of this country, you merely wish to keep them as a voting black and firmly under your left-wing thumb.
It is your side that ALWAYS votes against school choice, which would help out black families throughout this country. Why? Because you are racists.
The mere thought of blacks thinking for themselves and not voting in lock-step with the democrats is so terrifying to your side, you will do whatever your black racist hearts will allow to prevent them from leaving.
Suck it Lee and all you other racists left-wing trollboys. You have some explaining to do as to why you hate black people and why you don’t wish them to get ahead.
*lee mode off*
Chill – Not all white southern rednecks are honky bigots USMC. I never said they were.
As long as they don’t hinder our right to make a living or restrict our guaranteed freedoms. They can do or say whatever the hell they want.
Holy shit. I can’t possibly say anything beyond this, nor will I. This is an absolutely beautiful quote, and one which will be oft-repeated.
Steve of Norway – Your cracker friends may buy that line, but I’m not. By far the conservatives bigots outnumber the liberal bigots – by far.
Finally figured out why all of the conservo-blog interest in tracking down a liberal racist. Everytime you guys get nailed (Corker-Ford) you spend all of your time trying to prove you aren’t the only racist bigots in town.
Always two days behind – the Republicans have been two days behind the ball throughout the last month – here you guys are defending last week’s news that Corker’s campaign has been caught using Ford’s race against him. It took you guys a week to find a liberal racist? LOl!
What’s the Republican message today? – just a bunch of knuckelhead trying to explain away LAST WEEK’s headlines. It would be pathetic it wasn’t so damned funny.
The problem I have with republican racist, is that they are the party in power, and their insensitive policies might…
Need you be reminded that it was Democrats who were the strongest dissenters and most racist when it came to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Here were the votes:
The Original House Version:
Democratic Party: 153-96 (61%-39%)
Republican Party: 138-34 (80%-20%)
The Senate version:
Democratic Party: 46-22 (68%-32%)
Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%)
The Senate Version, voted on by the House:
Democratic Party: 153-91 (63%-37%)
Republican Party: 136-35 (80%-20%)
Now, if you still want to label ALL Republicans as somehow being racists at the core, that’s your ignorance in doing so. And if you want to cry David Duke, then go right ahead. I’ll trot out Strom Thurmond, George Wallace, Robert Byrd, Sam Ervin…and the list goes on and on and on…and every one is Democrat.
No one, least of all Democrats who claim to be a party of tolerance and acceptance, should tolerate this kind of racist crap churned out from some braindead, glaringly obvious racist crapweasel.
“Holy shit. I can’t possibly say anything beyond this, nor will I. This is an absolutely beautiful quote, and one which will be oft-repeated.”
THANK YOU! Now stick it on your refrigerator.
“You my friend are dangerous, ..”
I am not your friend, nor do I want to be!
Racism is racism, whether it’s Liberals or Conservatives. Both sides tend to go into denial when it happens.
So in other words, field negro, it is perfectly alright for liberals to use racist language and themes because they are harmless liberals. Conservatives, however, are in power and just presumed to be racist and dangerous. So if the Dems win control of Congress do the roles then reverse with Republican racism now harmless and Democratic racism toxic?
Silly me, I tend to view all racism with disdain no matter who it comes from, but you have taught me otherwise. Next time someone makes a racist remark, better check their voter registration to see if it should be considered offensive.
How do we rate independents? Can they be be harmless racists or does that depend on who they voted the last election?
Always two days behind – the Republicans have been two days behind the ball throughout the last month – here you guys are defending last week’s news that Corker’s campaign has been caught using Ford’s race against him.
Care to reveal the racism? Would it have been OK if they had a black woman as the Playboy bunny?
Are you arguing that black men being with white women is, somehow, wrong?
We point to blackface. You point to absolutely moronic theories.
In the Bible Belt, going to a Playboy party will get a mention. Most Bunnies are white — blame Hefner for that reality.
You simply proved Kim’s point completely. You don’t care about racism and never have.
And please don’t tell me about your enlightended red state base. I was in Louisiana when David Duke was in his prime
Republicans didn’t refer to Duke as the party’s “conscience”. They, in fact, condemned him.
The Dems have a hard time saying the name Bob Byrd WITHOUT tossing in “The conscience of the party”. I’d prefer MY party’s conscience to not be hiding behind a white robe and white hood, personally.
-=Mike
Surely the Wizbang clown-car or it’s readership would never stoop to such a low when the name(s)
Charlie Rengel

-Are ever brought up.
No. Not ever.
Quit simpering and suck it up, losers.
