This tidbit from James Taranto helps explain some of the stories posted here over the past few days (or months, for that matter).
Meanwhile, an unscientific DemocraticUnderground poll finds that, at this writing, 72% agree with the statement, “I deal with severe mental illness in my home.”
Hmmm. The recent Dean statements, Cindy Sheehan, Former Ambassador Peck’s comments on Fox News, the HIllary bust, several of the items on Kevin’s 10 Spot…and on and on. I think I will just keep scrolling and re-read a few of the most recent posts. This puts things in a whole new light. Hat tip to Larwyn (who asked “only 72%?”) for the second time today.
I wonder if this also explains the mass amnesia. The lefties seem to believe there is no world history prior to January 2001.
And Sir Charles Barkley says Republicans have lost their minds?
Ken
Does anyone stop and wonder why they deal with so much mental illness. Perhaps they need to take a look in the mirror.
I am honestly beginning to worry about the future of this great country. I am sixty five years old and have never seen a time when so many people were confussed. It is like no one can make up their own mind about anything. They seem to need to read someone elses opinion before they can figure anything out. No wonder the polls seem to change so ratically on a daily basis. How can anyone be satisfied with the presidents job one day and not the next. They must have a hell of a time desiding what to wear each day.
I had a short verbal bout with “lester” yesterday, and every comment he made seemed to be some quote from the DU talking points, with no firm convictions of his own. I love a good debate with a liberal, but not someone who is simply brainwashed by the far left. (Somebody find Paul Hooson and get him here before I give up.)
Of oourse, considering the source, this could also mean that 72% of them have Republicans/conservatives in their extended families…they all think anyone who isn’t a moonbat like them is either evil, insane or both.
The Republicans have their share of apparent contradictions. Bush vetoes his first bill billon in 5 and half years since he took office in January 2001 and “This bill (on stem cell research) would support the taking of innocent human life” But the reason the Bush administration is not calling for an immediate cease-fire to end the humanitarian catatastrophe in Lebanon a week later, is that the US wants to help the Lebanese people. The US wants an ‘enduring sustaining, and urgent( well thast has been dropped) ceasefire (not an immediate one) but only much of the country has been reduced to rubble and hundreds of civillians, many of them children have been killed….maybe many embryos too. Who is playing God? with innocent human life by suggesting the ends (even if futile: a ‘new Middle -East’) justify the means.
“This bill (on stem cell research) would support the taking of innocent human life””
No, it did nothing of the sort.
Are you Republicans really this uninformed? Where do you get this crap? from church newletters or political blogs that tell you what to think?
What idiots….
Wow, Lee, did you even read the context? He was quoting Bush’s speech and pointing out the ‘errors’.
Now, there are certainly falacies about that : for example, I’m somewhat doubtful that we could call “innocent” civilians who voted for, then ‘happened’ to be sitting in the same building as, Hezbollah’s army or rockets. But the error isn’t that Crickmore actually believed Bush.
I love it.
One moonbat liberal (steve) bashes Bush and the other moonbat liberal (Lee) calls him a damn liar.
Lee you are too stupid to argue your own position.
I guess this proves the point.
72% of liberals are suffering from mental illness.
Yes, Lee’s mental illness proceeds from his lack of a penis. And, I am informed, no vagina either.
Instead of taking his anti-psychotics, he spends his free time on this blog, further plunging into madness as wiser and smarter minds demonstrate his ignorance.
Sad, really.
Lee’s errant comments were too funny. Reminded me of SNLs Gilda Radner talking with conviction about the “Deaf Penalty”. (squeeky voice) Oh, Never Mind.
I remember Amb. Peck pimping for Saddam on CNN 16 years ago. Same old anti-American and anti-Semitic whore.

This is due to the lack of a moral compass. If one lacks a definitive set of core beliefs, any derivative belief is subject to being decided based on impulse/urge or one adopts the belief of some ‘celebrity’ that you admire (for all the wrong reasons).

Mike B,

I would agree with your theory here however they could and have just as easily argued in the past that because you have this so called moral compass you never have the ability to step outside of the box and accept all the other opinions that are out there and available to you like a truly nuanced liberal does. I just tend to think that if you wander this desert of life without a compass you tend to do alot of circles and never really get anywhere in life.
